a lot of vets are sponsored by the major dog food manufacturers

and a lot that aren't, are f***ing tubes, find yourself a good greyhound vet, people at your local track will be able to put you on to one

the problem is that with the move to a flesh diet becoming popular over recent years, vets are seeing more and more people bringing animals to them with health problems caused by the WRONG raw diet. for example, if you feed too much flesh and no bone you will end up with a calcium/phosphorous imbalance which will seriously f##k up a dogs bones. there are lots of other examples. (my dogs get fish, venison, rabbit, chicken, lamb and a bit of beef and horse, all on the bone plus veg, eggs and a bit of bran and cod liver oil). a good balanced raw diet with plenty of variety is better than any biscuit type (how on eath can anybody say there is such a thing as a complete diet for any animal? nonsense. unless you are throwing whole deer in for them to tear up!!!) but how can a vet categorically tell the typical pet owner how to provide this? and what pet owner realistically has access to these things? dry food diets at least provide the bare necessary minerals and vitamins in a decent balance for most pet dogs so that is why vets recommend them, they are covering themselves.

sorry that got a bit long-winded, but you get my point!!
