Eating Squirrel

Recommended Posts

Anyone tried Squirrel?

I hear its supposed to be a nice meat, One of the permissions i have is full of them, and i have recently been asked to get rid of them, so far i have fed them to the ferrets, but if they are worth the effort, I'll prep them and make a meal.

So, are they "nice"? and are they worth the prep effort?

2 to 1 for, so far

Well if I'm gonna prep it, any Recommended Recipes?

Cajun Squirrel Hinds:

score the hinds, coat in beaten egg and then flour with cajun spice mixed in.

Fry in very hot oil for a couple of mins to get the coating crispy then 15-20 mins in medium oven to finish cooking.

Tastes like KFC, only a thousand times better! V Good dipped in garlic mayonnaise.

Or more simply: season with salt n pepper and a bit of finely chopped garlic and fry until just cooked and tender in butter/sunflower oil :)
