Ive always nipped out all the side shoots and let the plants are grow it’s full height but I’ll try her way with half my plants and see how it works out . Cheers. I take the side shoots out mate then let them go to the roof often six or seven trusses. If they finish and there a shoot at the bottom I let them go up to two trusses and have a few really late fruits. The fist plant inside the door of the green house had its tip eaten by a slug last year and it sent out two shoots. I let the two shoots grow up in a V shape I got more Tomato's of that plant than any of the others. This year the same thing happened again slug nipped the centre out. So going to do the same thing again, of course its behind the others have had to recover but thats good as it will hell stagger the crop. Its the same variety "Sakura" so we will have to see. I’ve a babies palate… there good mate make nice mixed leafs. could get few more in there I reckon mate. I mainly grow little gem and red gems. easy to grow from seed mate. Little tip FD if you grow from seed I use old mushroom containers with a few holes punched in the bottom. Put some good seed compost in firm down sprinkle the seed on top. Here the tip don't use compost on top of the seed use course sand you get far less damping off of the seedlings. Cheers Arry
