tegater 789
Lucky escape for the kids there. Maybe that is some of the reasons the schools do it.
Paid 935
Our head said she would rather close the school than have 1 child injured on the way to school, and i tend to agree with her. The roads are ok round here this time, but the road users are human, and I've noticed a lot of humans are proper muppets Plenty of crashes all over the place.
spade 224
Always amazes me that some schools in town shut and some stay open. I think it's wholly dependant on the teachers attitude. Our local village school is shut (Not too sure why) which has kept our youngest at home, next one up got taxi to bus stop but missed the school bus because taxi was running late so taxi took him into town for school and my eldest has gone in his taxi to college about 50 miles away (he stays there Mon-Fri) and has sent us a message to say no lessons today because staff haven't got in so he's spent the day with the grounds maintenance team gritting the site. Best letter we had from our lads school saying it would be staying open as they had a duty to the tax payer not to waste public money by shutting at the first sight of snow. Pisses me off all these that can't go to work but can get out to go playing in the snow/sledging etc.

walshie 2,804
6cm is only just over 2" in old money. We must really be the laughing stock of the rest of the world when we grind to a halt over this dusting of snow.
