socks 32,253
Socks,What about the 14 INT ? Or are they purely intelligence? 14 int started as purely intelligence gathering but they have evolved into a different beast over the last 10 years getting far more involved in the normal sf duties ... They are the only branch of the sf that have a section where females are active on the ground ........ So theyve moved on from what they was 20 years ago then. Interesting i'm i wrong in saying they were only set up to deal with IRA, or was it that was its main job for alot of years?? Your correct mate but they operate all over the world now ........

AirgunGuy 362
Interesting stuff this cloak and dagger style. I've kinda been a bit fascinated by it myself for some time after seeing a fair bit over years on the History Channel and places like that. I've picked up a few books over the years...gonna have to dig em out for a read. If i could do it all again i would defo go into the army. A mate of my old mans is ex SAS though never talked about it and i've had 1 or 2 conversations with Eddie Stone...not that he gave much away but a geat wee guy

Born Hunter 17,910
Here's another one for our resident SFs expert; Socks can you tell me why the UK SFs favour the American M16 family assualt rifles over the British army standard SA80? Is it not an admition of infiriority of the SA80? I was always led to believe that the H&K ammended SA80 was a world class assault rifle yet our finest don't see it fit for their work.
