Skycat, it is a Cinnamon Chaffinch cock bird he is paired to a normal hen who is sitting eggs again.

 

 

 

2 of the 1st round youngens now caged with some young Yellow Buntings the other bird in the pic.

 

Zek, Can't think off hand but will ask about,there is a web site called British Birds in Aviculture someone on there may be able to help..

Zek; If ye have no luck with the House Sparrows, let me know. Old mate of mine, Dale from Bristol, breeds them. Last I heard he was producing Cinnamons and all sorts. If need be, I'll try to get hold of him and see if he's still alive and doing it :good:

SOME LOVELY BIRDS THERE :yes: ,

MEALY REDPOLL AND TWITES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FAVOURITES OF MINE , THOUGH THE GOOD OLD LINNET WAS THE FIRST BRITISH BIRD I KEPT , ......... CHAFFIES ARE AGGRESIVE LITTLE SODS WHICH A GOOD MATE PREFERS TO BREED IN A TRIO ,

WELL LADS

 

MAYBE DUE TO THE AVAIRYS BEING SMALL ? ........... OVER THE YEARS HES BRED HUNDREDS OF CHAFFIES IN THIS MANNER MAINLY FROM SINGING STOCK ORIGINALLY FROM BELGIUM , MAYBE ANOTHER REASON ?
