You can buy stuff to sprinkle on his shit which is supposed to make it taste bad. A pretty ironic product if their ever was. Why they do it is beyond me.

dont really know why they do it, some people says it to get the Vitmains out of it, others say because they are bored.Best thing get it up right a way, if they out in a kennel, take it for a walk after you fed it.?

hi mate i bought a dog a few years back and it was eating its own shit i bought it cause it was not getting looked after right well took it to the vet as i had red on net that it could be a few things wrong with it the vet checked the dog over and said it was in good health when i got him he was skin and bone but put the weight on in no time the vet told me cause he was not getting fed right by his last owner that he was eating his shit cause he has been hungry and he is still eating it cause he has done it for so long to stop him eating it clean the shit up and leave 1 in the run and put tabassco sauce in it and keep doing that he will soon learn that when he eats the shit he will get a burny mouth

the dog is eating the shit becouse it is /or was bored . if you clean the shit up it cant eat it , its not rocket science is it ;)

Had the same thing with a terrier. Once on raw food, never did it again. A lot of tinned and dry food has stacks of flavour enhancers and preservatives in it so the crap still smells and tastes (to a dog!) like food!

Hmm, all our hounds are eating barf, never see a biscuit type meal, and they all do it & no matter what we try they won't stop. It ain't boredom either, there in peak fitness, but one things for certain they defiantly prefere the looser ones so I'm putting it down to when food travels through them quickly and isn't fully digested.
