risingfriend 1,042
For those who know me and might be interested that i have been diagnosed with skin cancer. I thought something was a bit different about this, for when i went to see my GP (he had a medical student in with him) after looking at it then getting the student to look, no cream or pills. It was just a "I'll make you a hospital appointment. Said to wife when i got home that i have a feeling it's cancer. Well hospital appointment within two weeks, confirm my diagnosis "skin cancer" doctor at hospital said should get appointment within two weeks. He was spot on because today's the day (stealing from the eye advert), not sure what is going to be done only that he is going to cut cancer out. The doctor at the hospital said that he will go 5mm into clean non cancer area, if when he opens my ear up he finds that the cancer has attatched its self to the cartlidge then he will have to cut that about. Because the ear has very little skin that they can cut and shut, they may have to take a skin graft from else where. Mine was just a spot that came up on my ear the weekend of the meet at Nottingham and i thought it was a bite, i thought that the flies of Nottingham wanted to taste some Southern soft tender flesh as they only had horrible old Northern gristle normally to feast on. So my "Mother Hen" in me is out now. So should anything change anywhere on you, go to doctor. If the padding that they put on my ear makes me shoot better, i might keep it.LOL wishing you all the very best mate stay strong and keep positive. Quote Link to post

thursodog 353
Best of luck man. My Da was diagnosed with it 8 years ago. He had about a dozen tumors cut out of his chest shoulders and back (every time the sun came out the shirt was off) He made a full recovery and been clear for 7 years now. No more sunbathing for him and i don't either now. All the best CW Quote Link to post
