scothunter 12,609
All organisations are corrupt to a degree. Just happens they are in the line light and it sells papers and makes headline news. Which I agree with btw. Root then out instead of closing ranks.

twobob 1,519
I can see miners will have bad memory's and opinions of the police because they were on the receiving end and the fact that most miners were as individuals, normal hard working lads and loads of people know them makes it seem unjust but, let's just look at the facts During the strike the police were faced with and angry mob, never mind they may have been decent lads, they were a mob just the same..... No different from the may day protesters or wog rioters or any other angry mob......if 100 angry blokes are facing me, I wouldn't wait for an introduction to see if they were sound lads !!!....it would be baton round the head first and ask questions late and I dare say most other lads would be the same. ye that woman the copper,s charging on a horse looks the angriest one person mob ive ever seen
stabba 10,745
As soon i have any contact with the police its automatically assumed that ive done bird before and that im a wrong un...this makes for a very difficult situation which could go either way depending on how i play it...they soon end up with egg on their faces when its proven ive never been in serious trouble with them whatsoever. I have actually had the cuffs on before they have even checked me out. A quick phonecall to prove my actual identification soon had em whipping the cuffs off and apologising...Never judge a book by its cover mr plod is usually my parting shot to them..atb stabba
foxfan 479
I think they do a good job in the main, however you feel about them, you wont have to put up with them much longer. G4S have won the tender to provide private policing. A private corporation policing the streets ! Bearing in mind that a corporation needs to maximise profits and minimise overheads it's a worrying prospect. Oh right guess it wasnt important enough to be all over the news and papers that the British cops ate getting disbanded. Guess if I subscribed to the tin foil brigades news letter I'd know. None taken (offence that is)

The Duncan 802
Quite frankly, as a copper, what would you do when dealing with a house burglary that gets reported after it has happened? Calling the plod to let them know your house has been burgled is getting them to shut the barn door after the horse has bolted.
scothunter 12,609
I've never really called the cops for anything, but is that right don't they come out? Anytime I have been in a situation where the cops have been called like when our yard got broken into. And diesel stolen they were there within half hour. Also when worked the doors they were always there. Normally wrong time lok
