Braid or mono

Recommended Posts

I use braid for deadbaiting and find it spot on, not too keen on it for float fishing though, not sure if it's me or not but It seems to make the float move around more than mono.

I reckon that it must be very good for ledgering deadbait's, any movement would really show on alarm or indicater, but wouldn't fancy it for float fishing, do you use it for lure fishing, if yes, how do you find it, i am going to stick with the mono myself as i have no problem's with it, no need to change over just because a few decent lure angler's use it, for every braid user there must be double or treble mono user's, so i will see if i feel the same in the winter or next year, will probably feel the same, thank's.

braid all the way. bite detection is better. plus you can use a high breaking strain.i use 60lb breaking strain . as i fish the river and alot of snags. i save alot of lures using 60lb braid. just yan

i think power pro probably best on the market.and remember you guys that dont know alway put sum mono on first to stop the braid slipping on the spool of a multiplier and use a double grinner knot .

mono for too many years, went to braid and it felt good but no stretch/give so after a few months went back to mono. try getting into a snag at long distance, not only do you loose the end tackly but

I use braid for lure fishing and mono for the rest , just wonderd if anyones used fluorocarbon , Americans use it alot for there bass fishing but not heard of many using it in the uk

It look's very good, i have used it for hooklink's in carp fishing, but a lot of carp angler's are using it as a mainline as it is heavy and sink's onto the contour's of the lakebed, when slack line fishing, also used it when flyfishing, i think it is getting popular.

might sound daft but do you tie the braid to the hook/lure using the same type off knots ie half blood etc ?
