Na tats just u pigsy

Matter of interest flash did you send your dog ovet the high jump?I thhink There was only 3 dogs that took part a lot of time and effort was taken to construct ihe high jump fair due Hopefully next year there will be a few improvements to the jump like a bit of scaffold and there should be a few more take part.

Dare I say this discussion illustrates what is wrong with this forum or really the people who come on to it to 'bitch' or give their opinion in an agressive and personalised fashion, and 'hands up' I have been guilty myself for re-acting to some of the comments in a less than objective fashion..

As I said there were some good points made on a potential welfare issue for dogs jumping but Ian appeared to take them on board and as only a few dogs appeared to take part and none appeared to be injured then it was all rather hypothetical. The problem arose because the posts became more personalised and aggressive . Surely with the whole concept of hunting with dogs under threat the whole country sports community can debate issues more constructively and without personal attacks on each other and without constantly going over old ground. We can't change the past only learn from it.

Now I have complimented Ian on his initiative in making innovations to the terrier, whippet & lurcher events at the NICountryside Festival formerly National Countrysports Fair. I trust he will, like we do, take the constructive part of these discussions and improve his events - why not give him a chance?

Ffs its a high jump get over it have you any idea y the other dogs didnt take part there show ponies might brake a nail

They have never been out in a field in the the winter because rabbits do to many turns sometimes backflips defiently not a straight line and dont mention the stones laying on the ground and for dear sake not the barb wire some whippet crosses or 7/8 lurchers will (greyhound) might dirty there coat or get myxi

I don't agree with u there my dogs don't jump cuz they r 2 lazy an will go under a gate or thru barb wire fences

Maybe they are smart enough to know if there is an easier/safer way to take it  Been involved in the sport for years and never had to have a dog scale a 9ft wall My dog could not do it simple as . I think Ian has taken all that has been said on the matter and will make a few improvments Wish Ian and co all the best and will support the show

A Tribute to the late John Shaw who passed away  last Thursday 6th November 25

      I Am Free
Do not grieve for me now my  friends and family, I am free
I am following the path God Laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day
To Love, to live, to hunt, to show my treasured Whippets, or play.
I found a peace at close of day.
Be not burdened with the times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Do not lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your hearts my friends and share with me
      God wanted me now,
      He set me free.
John, we will love you forever and you will be sadly missed by your loving family and all your Country Sporting Fraternity and in the show ring.
May the Angels above give you the best seat in Heaven and may your gentle soul rest in peace.
      For Country Sports Fraternity
      Margaret Mc Stay
