i no what your saying mate!!! ive even heard about people crossing greyhounds with dogs like collies and bull terriers to create something called a "lurcher", f*****g makes me sick

I think that is an unfair sweeping statement to make. Cross breed dogs can be worth a lot to the folks who own them, only they are in a position to name their worth. Who is to say the lab x GSD did

The b*****d had my tea off the worktop tonight when I went to answer the door so we aren't friends tonight

Personally I would rather have a mongrel than many of the 'purebred' types only bred for looks. As a pet, a cross is a perfect companion and I would wager would live a longer and healthier life than many. But I think you are referring to the fashion crosses like a 'cockapoo' which I agree is annoying, but I don't blame the dog and I don't think it is destined to be a bad dog just because it was bred for idiots.

The best ratting dog I have seen was an accidental JRT x Collie, one of the best gun dogs was a GSP x springer and I don't even know what the best lurcher I saw was and all of these dogs might have been put down at birth. But a chiuhaha x great dane or something equally unhealthy would be better off pts.
