Cutting a long story short, the farmer rang rake asking him to sort the rabbits out. Aye no bother.

 

Turned up and from in the car I could see rake getting wound up. Farmer was saying, you can't ferret that land, can't do that bit, can't walk across that land to ferret there, that dogs not aloud (my 12 week whippet pup).....

 

We just drove away with steam coming out of rakes ears!!!

Farmers are funny fcukers are the best of times, just gotta roll with it and not take the piss. He gave you air rifle permission right? Probably not a fan of running dogs around his stock.

On a farmers forum somewhere there will be a thread saying "i had a load of work to do today and i went to get the 4x4 so i could get over the far end quicker. As i was pulling out i saw a young lad who i let shoot with his airrifle walking his dog down the lane. I didnt know he had a dog, hes never mentined it at all. I stopped and took the time to try and have a conversation with him, i asked him about the dog but he got all shifty and just grunted and looked like i was in his way. He seems a good enough lad, usually knocks a few pigeons over in the barn. Maybe its just the youth of today but he seemed a right moody little strote. I dont know why i bothered".

next time u go make sure u leave way the farmer seeing ur bad of verman and ask him is is ok to have the dog way as its handy to have about,most farmers like to hear there selfs,just keep on top of the verman and be polite when spoken to,sounds to me like u will be fine
