is there really dogs out there that will take all irish and uk game.

from rabbits, hare, fox, deer (ignore red stags), pheasants etc, and actually do it on a regular basis, pre ban an all that ole shite.

capable of lifting 3 foxes 3 times a week, couple of deer, and big numbers of rabbits, plus do say 2 of 3 hares.

 

do they exist in normal lurcher breedings, or are they freak 1 of pups, entered correctly and just bloody lucky.

if they do exist naturally, what would you say is the breeding/cross most likely to throw an " All rounder "

There are dogs out there that take all game, for which they can be called an all rounder. But as for excelling at the different tasks then no as the perfect examples in each type of lurcher/quarry are so different. I've seen dogs which you can take out and they will catch a hare, but you enter it in a match would be silly. The same dog will kill foxes, but to ask it to do 3 a night, 2 or 3 times a week wouldn't be fare. And again it will go ferreting and do a pretty decent job. Probally a jack of all trades, master of none.

to take home large numbers of anything there has to be large numbers to take in the first place otherwise its traveling the country time, i think consistancy is more of a test than numbers

i only meant doing foxes 3 nights a week, when possibly sick of them or haven taken some abuse, then deer or rabbits the next week etc

My old deer/grey x collie/greys were true all rounders, even caught trout and salmon out the streams but I used to take them all over to try them on different land

you never going 2 meet every1 evaulation of a allrounder so call it what you want aslong it does what you want for you ,this dibate will go on for aslong dogs are worked which hopfully will be for very long time

Absolutly, totaly, no such thing as a "complete all rounder" ! There are dogs that do all sorts well, but there isn't the dog that does everything GREAT !! When talking of "allrounders", I allways think of Daley Thompson, the greatest "All round athlete" in the world ! He couldn't beat the best sprinters, jumpers or thowers, but they couldn't beat him in the Decatholon !! There are dogs that will kill hares, others that will do fox, others that will take big bags of rabbits . The dogs that will do a bit of everything are my type of dog, they haven't got to be the best at everything !!
