Was having this conversation the other day................Chelseas average attendance since Abramovich has been 41k......................in the early 90,s when they finished mid table every year it was 18k !!...........You go figure it

 

crowds dropped off for most clubs 80s 90s - think even Man Utd averaged 36k one year, here's the all time averages anyway, hope it helps

I wouldnt swear to it but i thought the Arsenal clock end was 12,500......North Bank i know was 19,000....that was when Highbury was a 60k ground.........in all fairness im not denying Chelsea could always raise a crowd to go away and were up there as regards away support in London in the ,s........it was just at home they fell apart

I think even the most loyal Chelsea bod would accept its a very different football club now to what it was even 10 years ago in every way.......as is Man City and any other club thats bought success........nothing you or me can do to change that.
