MR TEA POT 1,287 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Share Posted February 26, 2012 Well bodgerbear came over on saturday to give me a hand with some new permisson i got last weekend.We gets to the place,the plan was to ferret both sides of the driveway,a few warrens in the hedgerow on both sides,so nets where set on the first warren and 2 ferrets entered,a bit of a wait then 2 baby rabbits bolted pulling the nets off as they went, so worked the ferrets through and a rabbit bolted missed the long net ran, to another warren,great fecking start :censored: next warren 6 holer nets down ferrets in,couple of mins WHAM first rabbit in the purse net,ferret came out then went back,suddenly 2 rabbits bolted from the same hole the first was netted the other ran in to the hedge across the drive,ferrets back in, rabbit hits the net with the ferret on its neck straight up in the air with the ferret and rabbit in a purse net,yet somehow the rabbit managed to escape .The ferrets started showing so picked them up and crossed the track,nets down and waited 10 mins and nothing sweep of locator BB finds the ferret on his side short dig and rabbit in the bag,he just finished backfilling when a rabbit hit the net next to him.Ferret showed then shot back in,waited 15 mins nothing so ferret finder out again found ferret at 7 inches deep,pulls ferret out could rabbits back end,pulled it out,put me hand down again and there was another put me hand down again and YES another 3 rabbits from a 7 inch dig .Drive way done,decided to have a look on the field next door,found a nice 4 hole warren nets down ferret in,less the a minute 3 rabbits in the bag .So decided to call it a day as we was coming back sunday to do a railway bank.Seen the landowner we was happy about the number of rabbits we caught 17 in total,he gave me 30 duck eggs free . Its great to see results from folk its when they come home at night and see dozen passing on the driveway and then once you cleared them when they next come home and only see one or two or none.
