My .223 conditions are for the shooting of Fox and other Medium Quarry!

 

I can't help wonder what other Medium quarry we have here in the UK? Prairie dogs, Ground Hogs, Dingos....

thats for when your using a variable mag scope ,if you wind it down so your quarry looks a medium size you can shoot it :laugh:

paulus your not telling me there is a variation across the forces are you but that would make it very confusing lol ,its a bloody mine field out there......

Heres a pic of the wording on my FAC.

 

What conditions does it have against your rifle mate ? on my FAC the different calibres have obviously different conditions, the centrefires have deer and fox conditioned i.e. condition 6a applies, but this condition doesnt apply to the rimfires, they would only have 6b,6c and 6d. It may be that all the tickets from your force are printed this way, for instance if you got a grant for a 243 it would be conditioned with 6a but might not have 6b on it. hope this makes sense !!

The conditions under title 5 refer to the firearms. Those under number 6 refer to the ammunition, specifically the (section five) expanding ammunition.

Would it really be too much to ask to have a Firearms Act that encompasses all of the other ones and has a definitive list of conditions so that they can't just make them up?

 

I mean from Paulus' picture of his FAC, what place does that top condition have on an FAC? It should be sent as a letter.

Paulus, I can't see properly, does your cert have two note 5's?

if i were you chap i would ring the fire arms admin and check if everyting is in order. one would hope they sort it for free if it is worded wrong.

as far responsible shooters and police are concerned .22lr is unsuitable for shooting all deer species.

As you're not likely to shoot deer with them, no matter what it says on your cert, what's the problem?

 

I'm supposing your .22LR RIFLE isn't conditioned for deer (as that would be very illegal due to the minimum calibre and energy levels set out in the Deer Act).
