foxhound x greyhound

Read Simpsons 'Rebecca The Lurcher', that dog is supposedly a Foxhound cross. Recon this cross has been knocking around a bit and would be quite useful but I wouldn't fancy bringing one up only to hear it sing.

In my experience they dont "sing" like folks theorize. Not tryin to be argumentative but I dont think I've ever seen it.

It would certaimly put stamina into the Greyhound, but I'd prefer 1/4 Hound 3/4 Grey.

There used be fella that breed them in Belfast for hares and used the thicker stuff for foxes and that.Not to sure if it was foxhound or harrier

happylamper on here has one she is a very good dog seen her work a load of times hard as nails

im sure there is an other thread with some pics of his dog and some more of the cross.

Mines got a splash of hound in her, And what i see of it i like wouldnt think twice about haveing or useing hound blood again in mine, Then again iam talking a splash here not like a halfx or anything but something id like to hear more about is maybe a halfx working or a 3/4 bred...

Recon you'd be right too Dan but it'd be too big a gamble for me to take a first cross on. Maybe CP's three quarter from silent parents might be worth a punt.

i had brother and sister hound crosses they were bedlington x whippet put to a english hound then crossed with an english hound once again,the bitch wasnt very gutsy,the dog was he wood guzzle a fox in no time and there noses were excellent,and they would hunt as far as the rest of the pack would most of the time the dog was up front,the dog didnt give any tongue but the bitch did,atb wf
