lurchergrrl 1,441
Well Mack I think we've had the Ontario conversation before. Nepean is a nice place but cold as the proverbial witch's tit, as you know. Having lived in Ottawa for a few years I can say two things: I like it a lot there. And I will never go back to that city I've tossed around the idea of going back home a few times ... part of me wants to, part of me not. If I went back to Ontario I think I'd head up Perry Sound way, Georgian Bay. Bloody brilliant up there. LOADS of snow, but brilliant none the less. It does take some getting used to, the long cold winters. The heat waves in summer are soul destroying, and if you're outside of the city you need to wear head to toe mosquito netting most of the time. But I watched Ray Mears on tele yesterday, canoeing in Canada ... and there he was, silently paddling on a lake, taking in the views, and gawd did I feel homesick. I miss that feeling so much ... it's a feeling you can really only have there as far as I'm concerned. I reckon you should give it a go and see how it works out
