I wish it was as easy for me to get into oz/ms/ Canada as it is for every tom dick and Harry to get into this country as I'd be off first chance I get and advIse anyone that has the chance to do the same as the patients truly have taken over the asylum

Well Mack I think we've had the Ontario conversation before. Nepean is a nice place but cold as the proverbial witch's tit, as you know. Having lived in Ottawa for a few years I can say two things: I like it a lot there. And I will never go back to that city

I've tossed around the idea of going back home a few times ... part of me wants to, part of me not. If I went back to Ontario I think I'd head up Perry Sound way, Georgian Bay. Bloody brilliant up there. LOADS of snow, but brilliant none the less.

It does take some getting used to, the long cold winters. The heat waves in summer are soul destroying, and if you're outside of the city you need to wear head to toe mosquito netting most of the time. But I watched Ray Mears on tele yesterday, canoeing in Canada ... and there he was, silently paddling on a lake, taking in the views, and gawd did I feel homesick. I miss that feeling so much ... it's a feeling you can really only have there as far as I'm concerned.

I reckon you should give it a go and see how it works out

I spent some time a little further up from Ontario in Manitoba many years back......too cold for me....spent a few years in different parts of America around the same time.....in more recent years spent a lot of time in the Greek Islands and Spain, been saying for years im going to do the off but every time i spend some time away.......... cant believe im saying it :icon_redface: ,but i start to miss crisp frosty mornings, pie and mash down the Hammers and the many other great things i hold close to the heart about England.

Still wouldnt write it off but the longer i leave it the less im likely to do it......................try it Mackem,if it dont work out come back nothing has to be forever these days ;)

I miss the pie and mash and i,m only in somerset
