Joe67 239
yes,i hope to see it in my life time.scotland would benifit alot more being independant An independent state reliant on EU subsidies.. Sorry, but I can't see it. Larger economies than Scotland have failed big time in recent years, and with the emergence of China, India, Brasil and other emerging powers things are going to get tougher.. denmark, sweeden and norway are all thriving! id like to see scots money spent on improving scotland, not getting lost down south, then theres the oil am sure that would help a small nation "its not simply lack of money, but the claw back of london from the scottish buget will be about 400 million this coming year alone.that will hurt us all.it is particualary galling to be treated in this way at a time when scotland is running a buget surplus with london of some 2.3 billion per annum.london needs scotlands subsidy and scotlands oil to stat afloat, that is a fact"

The likes of Norway are a different kettle of fish. They keep everything in house, so the money and work is kept with the country and the people. Even if the taxes are even higher than ours...They have a much better setup..

Malt 379
Just reading this morning that in the event of independence Salmond would keep sterling 'Until it becomes financially viable to adopt the Euro..' What's that all about? He'd take Scotland out of the union, integrate it further into Europe and end up having less control over the place than they've got now.. Who gives a fcuk Great input there mate, fair play..

Who gives a fcuk Great input there mate, fair play.. not to mention malt.like any break up.scotland would be liable for its percentage of the uk debt.i wont go into the arrogance of salmond and his shower, that he would want to share embassies throughout the world with england.seems he wants the change as long as as it dont cost him anything.the mans an idiot.ive watched most of his interviews when independance is mentioned, and tbh he just resorts to petty insults.takes the credit for things that he didnt create.ive always said dangerous game playing with folks way of life.we could go from a realitively stable country to one that turns into a complete disaster.you only need to look at other countrys seeking independance to see how it much a horror story that could turn out.its all pie in the sky anyway.wont happen.thankfully the majority of scots dont want f**k all to do with it.they only voted snp to get shot of labour and stop the tories.the issue of independance was never an issue. blan89 159
yes,i think it would be better for us all,the rest of Britain loses a socialist stronghold and Scotland gets a smaller government and all the benefits that go along with that.
