rob190364 2,594
I'm so relieved that the majority of posters aren't running the country! Sense is in short supply. The folk that say "string them up" have a very blinkered view of life and all its complexities. Whilst I shall not lament the loss of this guys life and may view it as justice through the back door The actions of the perpetrators cannot and should not be condoned. Only in the news today.......Amanda Knox, a nurse getting her case overturned, jeez the news is littered with unjust decisions. Killing someone is a pretty final sentence. the guys that did this I Suspect aren't the most intelligent of our species and yet they thought that they new best how to deal with someone. Who gave them the right to be judge, jury AND executioner? News such as this should never be let out to the general public as the general public in most cases are mob rule orientated and refelct the views of the tabloids who only write what provokes and stirs anger. I suspect that many who condone whats happened, like to show their allegiance to the mob by joining in, for the calls of "kill em all". In my view that makes them no better than the guy who got killed . No doubt I shall now receive a torrent of abuse. Rgds Swampy Balanced ning you think normal everyday people who think that convicted murders should be killed are no better than a paedophile???? you are f'ckin wierd!!!! Normal! Who you trying to fool? How do you catagorise the level of severity of a crime. Who are you to decide a sentence on what has been written in the tabloid press? Re readmy post. There is a lot of verbal gesticulating by posters who have minimal knowledge of the situation. I for one would not want to put my name at the bottom of a death sentence! And if I wanted to provoke even more controversy.........................he raped two 13 year old girls the details of which we do not know. He is dead. The "eye for an eye" mob seemed to have over stepped the mark don't you think? I wonder what the view would be if it had been one of their children who had been disembowelled by two low lifes? Like I said at the beginning of my post. Thank God that some of the posters aren't running the country. Their balanced reasoning leaves a lot to be desired. It would be a very scary place to live! what if it had been your daughter that had been raped swampy???, Then I hope that I would have the strength of will not to follow my emotions and exact revenge in a manner that would be illegal.....however I do not pretend that I have that much strenght of character. Would it help my daughter? Doubtful. Would it appease my own personal outrage? I don't know but i doubt it. It is a very emotive subject and one that should be decided by others who are not driven by emotion and personal satisfaction/gratification. Which is why we have the courts which are appointed by governments who are elected by the people in a democratic fashion. Do you want to live in a country with similar laws of retribution as Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Saudi to name but a few? I'm sorry if my view offends you as it is not intended to offend. However it is my view and I will stand by it. I will not be a sheep ! rgds Swampy ninging for a better country If my 13 year old daughter was raped and the rapist got 4 years, all faith in the legal system would go out of the window and I would sort it myself which ever way I saw fit, not some judge that is so leniant! that's assuming the details in the story are correct. Whether that would be PC or not I don't give a shit, whether it means I was breaking the law or whether my actions were fuelled by emotion, again I wouldn't give a shit. I don't think I'd have the capability to disembowel someone, but I would sure as hell make sure he didn't do it again.

Swampy 147
I don't think anybody is seriously saying they would make the decision to kill someone by reading a paper, obviously the person making the decision would do so based on hard evidence. You're just being a nit picking pain in the arse! But that is exactly my point. From some of the posts on here that is exactly what they are saying. Based Purely on what they've read in the paper and heard down the pub! As for being nit picking. No. I just don't agree with mass hysterionics on a subject that has been published to provoke the kind of right wing, self indulgent "outrage" that belittles our existing system. Its not perfect but its a darn sight better than most.

And one that i would be hard pressed not to follow. I do know that my daughter would rather have me at home looking after her and her family than languishing in jail for a crime that has done nothing to help her
scothunter 12,609
when its a clear cut case like hyndley/tobin/black/huntlly.then they should be jailed and thrown into main stream prison.if thats a death sentence to them so be it.i just dont think the state should be killing people.someone who hasnt actually physically abused a child, but lets say downloaded child porn, then if they knew they wuld be jailed and mixing with every day criminals.i think they would refrain from downloading that filth.thing is they know on the whole they are protected, and lets be honest,i shudder to think the kind of chats those c**ts have inside.take away thier sense of security and i bet you would see a decline in this filthy behaviour. I don't think someone who has downloaded child porn should be killed, but they should definitely be castrated. The fact is your sexuality is in your genes, if you're attracted to kids then you always will be and you will never be safe around kids......so the only alternative to permanent imprisonment or death is to remove your sexual urges. It'd be like if all of a sudden they now made it illegal for blokes to have sex with women (or blokes in Judges case), that desire wouldn't go away because it's illegal, it would always be there and the temptation would never go away....unless you lost your spuds! Swampy 147
A Scottish nurse may have been wrongly convicted of the murders of four women, a BBC investigation suggests. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otland-15127072 Amanda Knox. http://www.bbc.co.uk...europe-15162243 So according to many of the posters on this thread. Any murderer, rapist should be left to rot in a high security prison at the mercy of the other inmates We should not be judging theses cases on what we read in the papers. I really hope that none of you lot have to suffer the type of justice you would like to see metted out only to find out that you were wrongly convicted! And I don't even like some of you! Swampy reasoned ning When did you get so PC Swampy? I used to think you were alright. FTB Sorry to have dissapointed you FTB I don't consider it PC.........Or does it become PC when you don't agree with the majority of posters on here? I really hope for the sake of those who have condoned the actions of the murderers that later on down the line the, two 13yo don't admit that they made it up and that he was completely innocent. Trial by tabloid........hmmmnnn an interesting concept. Like I said before .I'm glad that some of the posters on here aren't running the country. rgds Swampy no martydom here ning

I know exactly what they do with people who '' download'' child porn, they stick then in prison for a bit then they let them come back home , then find them a job & when the locals smash his windows the law take that very seriously , in fact MORE seriously than the child porn , i know all this because HE lives over the road from me , yes a convicted criminal who served time for having '' indecent'' images of kids on his pc & whats ironic is he was a SCREW at a young offenders place
