tinytiger 876
magnetic fields and how they effect us. It is thought that the sun is going through a magnetic shift and the the earth may be in the early stages of polar reversal. studies in scientific litrature discribe how many animals fron whales and dolphins to hummingbirds and wildebeests rely on the earths magnetic superhighways to navigate their way to feeding and mating grounds. humans dont use these superhighways or so it was thought. In 1993 an international team studying magnetoreception, the ability of our brains to detect magnetic changes in the earth.the team published the remarkable findings that the human brain contains millions of tiny magnetic particles. these particals conect us just as they do animals, to earths magnetic field in a powerfull direct, and intimate way. we know that for example magnetic fields have a profound influence over our nervous systems, our immune systems and our perception of time, space, dreams, and maybe even reality itself. our plannets magnetic strength (field) varies from place to place, early in the twentieth century, magnetic, ribbonlike patterns were charted and published by scientists as a contour map of the world. the map displays the strength of the magnetic lines overlaying the continents and shows the places on earth where the people of the world experience the strongest and the weekest effects of the plannets magnetic fields. consciousnes is made of energy, and that includes electricity and magnetisum, whilst the electromagnetic nature of consciousness is still being explored, it does appear that earths magnetics play a key role in how we accept new ideas and change in our lives. The places in the world with the lowest magnetic intensity, such as the zero contour line (zero magnetic gauss)which runs directly beneath the suez canal and into israel. are precisely the places where we see the greatest opportunities for change. On the opposite end of the spectrum there are zones of extremely high magnetisum where historically, change comes about slowly over time and is often the result of a struggle. in central russia for example, countour values are some of the highest in the world at more than 150 gauss units. police officers and health workers will agree that bizarre and strange behaviour that is seen durring a full moon when the magnetic strength changes suddenly, Where do you think the word lunatic comes from,How do swallows find their way home
tinytiger 876
I can personally attest to the fact that I'm not a very nice person during the full moon I get well grumpy and short tempered. Maybe I was a werewolf in my previous life This unfortunately has nothing to do with the moon but but will most certainly have something to do with you being female.......... The moon can make the tides go in and out so of course it can affect womens brains which are at least 99 % water

paulus 26
It's a case of we arn't really sure! The last polar reversal was a long fecking time ago, and they seem to be pretty random when they do happen. The Earths magnetic field is induced by the flow of molten Iron within the Earth so it is believed that when the flow gets a bit messed up so does the magnetic field, but I think the physics is still a bit theoretical. We arn't even sure if this is gonna happen any time in the near future but the magnetic north pole has been shifting with an accelerating rate for a few decades now. It is not believed previous polar reversals caused extinctions and as I have said the last one took place so long ago our ancestors were the steryotypical caveman! The reversal may cause solar radiation to give us a good dose, then again it may not. It may cause us all to have dreams of alien abduction, but probably won't. It may f**k with alot of migratory animals etc. We just don't really know. I don't really know a great deal about it but it strikes me as another bit of science thats been proposed and the whole world has got all excited about it because there is no definitive answer! The 2012 nut jobs love it! magnetic reversals have happend 171 times in the last 76 million years with 14 of those happening in the last 4.5 million years, whilst thay are definitely cyclic the reversals appear to vary in time, making the next one an uncertainty. there are symtoms that procede the flip such as abrubt changes in weather pattens and a rapid awakening of the plannets magnetic field. and yes you right the 2012 nutters love it because it fits in with the mayan calculations and alot of other religions also say that in 2012 there will be an awakening. not the end of the world   not as we know it

I can only assume that they then use carbon dating to date the rocks and note the orientations to get a reasonably accurate idea of when the Earth has undergone polar rotations in history.

By dating the age of volcanic rock strata they can somehow tell the direction of the magnatic field at the time the rocks were formed.
