Hi would like to know what are you using for hunting .177 or .22. IT seems to me a lot are changing from .22 to .177 on the bsaog site

I use both, like .22 for the stopping power! .177 for the speed! Depends on the day and how I feel!

.177 for bunnies, .25 for everything else, (and bunnies occasionally!)

I like to use my .22 if i can for day time shooting with a well calibrated reticle and a LRF.

 

For night time i use a .177 due to the flatter trajectory where range estimation is hard..

 

For HFT from now on i will be using a .177

 

For anything from 5 to 40 metres in the day time and again with a LRF i would now consider .25 calbre as ive had some decent results with the calibre.

 

It doesnt really matter what you use as long as you put the pellet in the kill zone.

Mainly .20 for me, but I do use .177 and .22 aswell.

 

As has been said above and no doubt will be said again, it's shot placement that matters the most

Having Both I'm weighted toward the .177 both day and night, although I started with the .22 and am as others fond of the stopping power, although with my range estimation the .177 and I get along better.

 

That said I'm Still after a LRF, so I suspect the .22 will soon rise again

If I am hunting at different ranges 177.At a freinds garden.. we shoot 25 to 35 yards only and I use a parker hale dragon ,for the fun of it.It is a 22 wish it was a 177.

2.2 but could use a 177 for the lamp and would like a go on 2.0 one day. a flatter trajectory would be useful but i put rabbits in the bag with me 2.2 so will carry on with em.
