marshman 7,758
A quick question. Would you breed from a dog or bitch that you could call of a dig? Providing said dog or bitch had never come of on it's own accord. Quote Link to post

Providing said dog or bitch had never come of on it's own accord. If she was the only bitch I had or could get my hands on,yes! If I had her sister who had to be dug out,Id breed from her instead. THE DEALER! 77
i knew of a dog that i dug to on badgers for years, the dog was dug on average about 20- 30 times a season, had over three hundred digs on badgers, then one day at an old age he walked off the game in a nice handy dig, i taught the game bolted, the dog was in tip top condition at all times, this dog could be called out of an earth, might take a half hour to come out, but out he would come, its the dogs that come out without been called off i be worried about, would i breed off a dog you could call out........NO, NO NO. i have seen dogs at deaths door after a good hard dig, there the dogs i breed off nothing else will go in to my line of terriers, and no money will be spared to get them out of an earth.
