fenman1# 724
if he respected his quarry and left them alone during the summer the dog would still be alive, not having a dig but the way i was taut, 1 of the rules was never hunt when animals have young. i dont hunt foxes during the summer and he was looking to see what the dog was like and it was a big dog fox so he said so what do you want me to say fenman. The fox broke 40 yards from him so i guess he got itchy fingers and slipped. scent iv spoken to you a couple times by pm you sound like a genuine fella, i no its a c**t when you lose a good dog but my town is f****d with a load of fellas going out slipping a load of dogs at once in summer months driving calfs and cattle everywhere, we had permission on land that held all quarry, had great days sport everytime we hunted it, now if the farmer see's a dog on his land hes pumping it with led Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
That's a crying shame about a young and keen dog but i 100% agree with Fenman1 on the post below.. if he respected his quarry and left them alone during the summer the dog would still be alive, not having a dig but the way i was taut, 1 of the rules was never hunt when animals have young. wexford Pa 84
Its terrible for any lad to lose a dog in whatever circumstances, even the truest sportsmen are no angels but at least he cud have done was respect the dog n not slip the dog on hard ground or near a road.. A harsh lesson learned i hope.. Quote Link to post

Blue one 89
R.I.P Tadh. sorry to hear about the dog, sounded promissing. To fenman, that could of happened in the season too. a fox under pressure, will head anywhere, to put a dog off, be it summer, or winter. just from my personal experience of hunting in the winter months.
