cut off height

I,d say around the 28inch mark

28 can be a bit too big at times mate but its a good hight for the larger quarry

Personally i wouldnt own a dog that big...but sometimes in certain situations i wish i did

i got 1 here mate getting on a bit now like but he could handle himself pre ban but when it came to the catching of true winter foxs he was lacking a touch due i m o to being a bit too tall an lacking agility mate

really ive seen a few 28/29 rinse winter fox and take bunnys for fun ........

i dont think so with the height, but i do with the weight, because Bryn is (60lb) alot more agile so with strike+catch, it should show what game is caught. But Tod was never bred to the same job as Bry

26/27 id say i cant think of a situation were you would need a bigger dog

theres a couple of areas around here where dogs upto 25" have caught pre ban but there success hasnt been that great.

yet ive run the same place with 27" dogs and there success rate has been much better.

myself i think that after 27"tts you dont gain any more. edited to say after 27"tts i dont think you can gain anymore than just weight

do you think there will be situations when tods height will give him a slight advantage over bryn. e.g on certain terrains where you work them.

its down 2 personally prefence dogs for all jobs regardless of size or breed ,example i don,t think my 28tts bull/deerhound/saluki/grey 81ibs will be as adgile as 19tts 30ibs beddy/whippet but it will make up for in drive and determation

A dogs height or weight will have nothing to do with its drive or determination.........thats down to heart.

A bigger dog may lose out on agility but size has nothing to do with drive imo.

i was,nt saying that jonny .all dogs will have drive and determation ,my point was my dog might dog might be as agile as a beddy/whippet or a smaller type ,but it will make up for that in grit and determation and yes your right heart is a big facter
