ferrety f 23
Shredded paper or an old fleece cut into strips, dont use a towel or blanket as the kits can get lost between the folds / under it . Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
I like to wrap them up individually in old socks then if I have to clean them out I can just peg them up on the washing line , or place them on an old grill pan so if it gets to cold I can just pop them under the grill for a few miniutes mind to turn them regulary or they go a bit crispy , ????????, Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
Hay is a much finer stalk than straw, can get wrapped round tiny legs. Shavings aren't so warm and the dust can clog up lungs and nostrils. Shredded paper isn't bad but I prefer straw. Make sure it isn't dusty or mouldy. Straw is warm, safe and cheap. Quote Link to post
andy s410c 61
For me a good depth of fine clean pine shavings & clean barley straw. As previously said don't use hay as the kits could get wrapped up in it & it can cause the "sweats".You might want to get yourself a tin of Lactol & a feeding bottle just incase things go wrong with the jill.
