General advice on mounted gun lamps!

Recommended Posts

Im currently using a decent torch mounted on my scope, it gives out a good amount of light but does not concentrate the light to one area so much.

Anyone got any advice on what i should replace it with? Was thinking something lightweight with a 100m beam lenght. Didnt wanna spend more than £90. What have people got that works for them?

Thanks in advance.

Getting a Cree 120 lumens torch from Tescos for my birthday (nice mum), 14 hours power from 2 AAs, focusable beam and dimmer, £25 and mother gets the club card points... Has a dimmer that takes beam from 100-10%, focusing, seems a good lamp to me, cheap to run as well...

Have a link on me... Every little helps!

Hi Mozza.

The Led Lenser gun kit is worth a look, one small tail wire to opperate the pressure switch.

Hell of a torch, you will need to make up a filter though, worth the trouble

Good luck with your choice.

I use a Deben Tracer Max Pro with red filter and dimmer switch.

It works for me and I shot quite a few with it about 4 nights ago with Andy.

Against common belief, you actually need a low powered lamp for better results when lamping not a bright lamp.

The trick is to spot the rabbit on half power, turn the dimmer to off so there is no light then turn it up just enough to see the cross hairs and the rabbits head.

Do it this way and the rabbit will sit for you 99% of the time.
