Ok I know I'm reminising but all I wanted to do when I was kid was get home and get out again for as long as possible, either out with mates with the Air Rifles or out round the local teenage Mattress . kids are missing out on alot these days in this cyber brainwashed world we live in ..... I hated the feckin' thing with a passion as an ex of mine became obsessed with the bloody thing and it was very much a part of us splitting up but I could see it as a tool where I could reach a lot of folks for free. Within a short space of time, I'd stumbled accross a good few folks who I'd not seen for many years, not because anyone had fallen out but folks had moved away, joined up, gone travelling, whatever and we'd just lost touch. I'm talking about friends from 20 or more years ago so it was before moblie phones or email being anything like they are now, we just lost touch. So now I'm within free and easy contact with old friends who live all over the world as well as the UK as well as having nearly 600 contacts (I refuse to use the word 'friend' to describe some random on FB....). I know what some folks mean though, there's some properly odd feckers on there with no proper life and a strange obsession to 'poke' some total stranger. Wierd.... and I don't give a feck that someone has just made themselves some toast or whatever, get a feckin' life, FFS!!!!! It does have it's uses.... Edit to say... Id be interested to hear you lads ages if its not impolite to ask ?....ony because my pal admitted the other day he go,s on it....i was shocked !! with you on this one Gnash! if I want to talk to somone I pick up the blower or email them, my kids go on it although I'm no keen on it. took a look on my Daughters account and found up some people I was at school with! the talk was nearly all school reunions , f**k me you would think by the time they was in their 40's they would have moved on a bit... Thats all well and good but how do you know their phone number or Email address if you've lost contact with them, I am with you on the school reunions though, Never appealed to me either, Much rather just meet up with the ones I liked and leave the rest to it Perhaps you lost contact with them because they weren't true friends.......maybe just acquaintances. Kids go on there and can end up being stalked by weirdo's pretending to be teenagers trying to arrange a meet up with them . on a specialist Hunting forum like this you would think it would never happen with folk looking out for each other, at least on here we're all on the same level with field sports being our primary goal.... Its good for arranging nights out and birthday does etc rather than ringing say twenty people i can just create an event and invite them, it takes a couple of minutes and its job done. Plus its handy for keeping in touch with people who arent necessarily friends but handy to know, case in point i recently needed to get hold of a dog cage i know a lad whos into dogs but i dont see him regularly so i messaged him on there and he got hold of a cage for me same way i get people asking me for favours from time to time.
