weasle 1,119
Hi all you have to admit that for now these big dogs of ours are really craving it a bit ehy, with the only work going for them is the work produced by our little dogs but the question i ask is what do the people on here without terriers do to amuse there dogs in such a prolonged frost? Yes i agree, mine are only a run or two from being a hundred % thanks 2 being out with the terriers, that and the fact i was... em" snowed in last week" .A good few 6hour mooch`s.last week. There again im not afraid to let mine do abit,I just try to advoid any fast game.I find mine more than able to do a bit. When you think the ground was like a rock in september, and has been for two weeks now,the dogs have to do a bit. bullmastiff 615
I couldn't of timed it better! lol got my bitch's Dewclaws removed 3 weeks ago after she damaged one again, so I haven't been able to let her off the lead anyway. So by the time the grounds softened up again, she'll bit fit to burst and raring to get out!. Quote Link to post

gizmo88 1
Bit of a funny 1 but round by me you can bolt just as many rabbits with a terrier for your lurcher to chase and catch as lamping so why not just lamp your taking just as Many risks as lamping them around here as bolting them so I just lamp them my dogs seem smart enough not to run stupid and respect the ground there running on they just run at half pace, always done this and never in 10 yrs had a problem with injures, as long as the dog has the brain and education there fine, just my opinion Quote Link to post

It'll take me the best part of a fortnight to get them both back to scratch when the thor comes but hey ho not alot I can do about it. ATB Edited December 9, 2010 by fensaluki Quote Link to post

collie/grey 238
Just casual easy mooching during the day and a good amount of road work, it's all i can give them in this weather as i work from 8-5 most days so this time of year i rely on the lamp to give the dogs a good run out a few times a week, season will be almost over by the time this bleeding ice pisses off!!!
