JohnGalway 1,043
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZgUsniGOpA A lot of people think they live in God's county, well fúck ye because I really do When I pass West of Maam Cross on the N59 from Galway City to Conamara, no matter where I've just come from, I feel at home. I see the blanket bog and quiet desolation stretch in front of me. I see the Maumturk Mountains first, the the Twelve Bens stretch away from me, usually blanketed in cloud. I know we're a people out on our own, away from the rest of the country. Forgotten and ignored until playtime for the rich in the Summer and I say this is ours and no one elses. This is my place poor or rich I can be happy here. I can walk my mountains, let the grains of sand pour through my fingers on my beaches and see all the wonder around me. I can shoot my duck, stalk my deer, snare my bunny, and outwit my fox. I can say f**k you to the political canvassers and enjoy the company of my friends. I can work my land, breed my sheep and revel in my surround. I know the Atlantic waits for me at the end of my road. White topped breakers in Winter and glistening flat calm welcoming sea for the mackerel in late Summer. This is my land, this is who I am. I am poor, I am not rich. But, by God, I am happy to live where I do, I am blessed amongst men. Follow your dream. You only live once. Edited November 20, 2010 by JohnGalway

Must be something about living in the West, it's pretty stunning here on the West coast of Wales too!
