The lonely fox cub growing fast . . . .

Recommended Posts

As some of you are aware i've been watching a little lone fox cub for the last 6/8 weeks or so . . . . I have been too busy to visit him recently, had a mental weekend and needed some me time this morning so took myself off to the old mans garden. I waited an hour before he appeared, he's grown considerably since i last visited and with maturity has come his natural fear instincts kicking in. The other times i've photographed him he's been looning around without a care in the world, today however he was very much aware of every sight and smell. There's some builders working at the church just behind the hedge and every bang or raised voice caused him to stop and consider his options . . . . in all fairness it made my job so much easier as it meant i could get those freeze framed fox expressions, that up until now has been impossible due to him constantly storming around! :clapper:

He seem's in good shape, i have a feeling the old man is feeding him more than he's letting on, there has obviously been food on the grass as he was constantly sniffing around and found a couple of stray scraps. He knew i was there today but again the potting shed meant he wasn't worried enough to run, just more cautious than he's been before.

I only had 20 mins with him out, he got himself really hot and bothered, lay down briefly in a shadier spot, but then decided that underground was his best option.

I'm really pleased with these shots, imo the best i have of him so far.
