Chaz & Dave's

Recommended Posts

Hi every one

Chaz & I went over to east hanney Oxfordshire Sunday, where we have 3 permissions in a 5 minute trip between each other.

Chaz picked me up at 5:00am sorry 5:30am as he slept in lol, while I was waiting for him to pick me up. I decided to declare war on the magpies as they were making to much noise lol.so put out some eggs in the garden and sat back in the living room and waited.

It wasnt long before the first sky pirate arrived for its local dose of lead, once it was down then all hell broke loose another 4 came cackling, and I just sat back and picked them of got another two by this time I could here the truck pull up, so in the bag they went! And off we set.

As we pulled up in to the field there was a few out to are right, which was in range so out with the AAS410K.177 and a quick stalk along the fence line, down on one knee took aim THWACK! Lights out! A good start for the day

So back to the truck to get all me kit on camo gear, handycam, pellets. And thought I would get some more footage with the scopecam BUT!! Forgot the adaptor DOH!

So would have to go freestyle lol.so chaz was of to his favourite sniping point and I went for a mooch.

I got half way round the paddocks and I spotted a bunny @ 150yds so a nice slow stalk along the hedge row, in the shadow from the raging! Sun. steady as you like in matrix mode lol, I got within about 50yds and a small kit dashed form under my feet nearly in to the hole it came from. Must admit it did startle me abit!! Lol so on I went and got within 35yds of my second bunny of the morning, slowly to the ground I went adjusting my bi-pod on the way down. Once I was comfortable I ranged it again 33yds, so sweet right in my zero. I brought the cross hairs below the ear inline with the eye, took up the first stage nice & easy second stage THWUCK straight over its head and two mildot to the left DOH!!! Whats going on I havent knocked it, it was ok this morning on the magpies, and it was ok when we got here as the first bunny was ranged @ 43yds.so thought it must be me, anyway the bunny had not moved far if a couple of yds. So a second shot was on so same procedure THWUCK missed again!! So took a couple of shots on a post and adjusted it accordingly

So was on the radio to chaz and asked if he fancied a cuppa, went back to the truck and chaz was having a good time too! After a cuppa we decided to have a look around the other permission so off we went.

It took us about three minutes in the truck, so it wasnt long before the AAS410K were out again and chaz was on fire! I was still missing and decided to have a quick zero session. So I put a target out on a tree @ 35yds I took my first shot and straight in the middle of the target, took another and high it went so four clicks down and another shot later it was spot on ,so just to make sure I took another shot straight through the previous two shots. Right confidence was back up lets go chaz.

So of we went again and noticed there was a young calf stuck in a small wooded area where it was all barbed wire off, so we thought hhmm that should not be in there!

And as luck would have it the land owner was on his way over to us, for a chat we told him how we were doing and that there was one of his calfs trapped in the woodland. Any ways we offered to help him get her out and wire the fence secure again .once we done this we were on track again.

Charlie was on fire again as everything come out the drivers side doh! Then we parked up for a while. And my shit or bust shot arrived, a small kit popped out for a graze and a desert of AA FIELD lol So slowly opening the truck door to get the shot of, and one foot out of the truck to stable myself .cross hairs locked on no need to range as I knew it was in my zero from previous shots from this spot. THWACK!! Straight to the ground it went not a twitch!

Well I can tell ya what a confidence!! Booster that was

after this we had another drive around but it was midday by this time so we decided to have a couple of hours round at the orchard.

Three minutes later and we was at the gate, we could see some corvids, but no bunnies and couple of pigeons and a magpie. so in we went and coincidently the jackdaws were chaz side lol ,so up with his AAS410K .177 THWACK! , THWACK!!

Nice shooting chaz, then as the same as the morning all hell broke loose jackdaws every where cawing, so we thought if we box clever here we might have a few more. But they wasnt playing ball lol

Not much went on after this apart from appearance from a cock and hen pheasant, but sadly we had to leave them alone! As Robert the land owner does not want us to shoot them, so have to respect that!
