here is a true story, about my bull x

Recommended Posts

about 7 years ago i took my 5 year old bull x bitch with me on a weekend carp fishing trip,me and a couple of mates agreed a time and location at this particular water, one of the lads said his cousin was down for the weekend and he would bring him along, none of has met him before but you know carp fisherman,we can bull shit with the best of them.

anyway we pulled up at the lake and i let my bitch run loose whilst the two of us loaded are kit on the barrows, all sorted with dog back on the slip we approached the lake, there was the other lad with his cousin, I plonked the barrow down and as i looked at his cousin my bitch started snarling and showing her teeth, she was actually lunging forward toward this guy,out of shock more than anything i reprimanded the dog and she lay down.

i could not believe that she had done this, but there was one thing i noticed about this guy,and it was the only reason i could think of that had caused this so out of character behaviour.

id had this bitch from 6 weeks old,my three year old would tow her round the garden whilst peddling a plastic tractor, that dog had never growled at anyone or anything until now,it really was a people loving type, men or woman young or old, just loved a fuss, excellent lamping dog, in fact prob the best iv had,so the question is,

WHAT HAD CAUSED HER TO REACT LIKE THIS?

the man may have had a strange gait/posture which you didnt pick up on but your dog perceived as a threat.

my old Shepard inexplicably hated gingers lol who knows what goes on in a dogs mind

it wasn't his gait or posture, good guess though, there really is only one reason i can think of

one word (fear) the bloke prob was scarred of you dog, dogs pick this up and will try to dominate straight away by showing aggression. Its really hard if you are scarred of a dog, because you carnt fool them they know. With any dog make sure it knows, you dont give a shit for it
