1st tree rat

Recommended Posts

well thanks for the tips the other day fellas, i got out on sunday morning and had a look around the small bit of wood and the woodland hedgerows seperating some of the fields. i didnt see anything apart from a couple of well out of my range rabbits so i'd decided to sneakily make my way back to the motor when i chanced upon a couple of tree rats having a munch at the base of a beech tree, they'd seen me as i'd clocked them so they shot up the tree and jumped to the next one, right you buggers i thought and leant against the nearest tree and waited a sec. as id hoped, one of em poked his head up to take a squint at me, so i drew a bead on him and popped from about 15yds and 10' up. not the longest range i've ever taken a shot from, but my heart was in my mouth as i heard the reassuring whack of pellet on head and saw him drop from the tree and land with a thump. i couldnt find the other bugger for love nor money mind, so i took a photo of the first, threw him over my shoulder and headed home for brekky. anyhow, heres my first squirrel, hopefully the first of many

Excellent :clapper:

That looks like a hell of an exit wound  unless its just the bloodloss?

Nice shooting indeed :toast:

Phantom

Oh do you eat them?

oh yeah mate, the missus is a great cook so she does a great squirrel in hoi sin sauce wrap, which is spot on-better than chinese shredded duck in my opinion :clapper:

the exit wound looked a lot worse than it was, but .20 does leave its mark, for sure!

atb, wurz
