  1. If I was you if you can get a red tail on loan for a season to see if that bird is for you and try the same for a gos.and I love lamping the gos as its a change of the bird and get alot more flights on the lamp to.
  2. Hi David I was speaking to Andy a few weeks back and had a good few people asking asking about it and I mate was thinking of buying it.but never got it.so I think its still there as I still see the ad up on it.as I know hell delivery it to Scotland and Ireland.as that bird came out of the pen at 3lb 2oz its a lump of a bird
  3. Its more the boys from the states that use them alot on the hares
  4. You'll get hares with red tail if you give the bird a chance to catch one .as it took me the second season to get a hare with the gos as I showed her plenty just never got the head hold right.and the best way to work a red tail is on the soar with springer running the cover for the bird
  5. Ive always wanted to fly a redtail as I would want a huge female.as I flown Harris for 8 years and then got fed up flying them and sold my good female Harris on.And then a mate asked me do I want to fly a female goshawk for a season to see if I could handle a goshawk and I was hooked on them and ordered a untouched bird the following on season.but ive it still in the back of my head to order a redtail for next season and put the gos up for a year to get the redtail going.
  6. Eddie sells good tx3 system as I had my system for ten years and never let me down once and sold it last week as I got a good deal on a Marshall system.as the tx was a spare telemetry system as I was using the lukestander system and keep it as spare now.
  7. how do you work that out? ive never used a hood, I like my gos bomb proof, its each to their own, nothing to do with skill Unfortunately a lot of guys don't know how to hood a bird. It has nothing to do with making a hawk bombproof, - manning them does that, But hooding does have a lot of advantages. Whether you choose to hood or not, that is your choice. I wouldn't have a hawk if I couldn't hood it. That's just my humble opinion and I'm not entering into a debate about it. I agree with you David some people can't hood a bird .as ive always trained my hawks to the hood as I had
  8. Thank you.ive got to use the hood as I wouldn't trust her around other hawks as I think she will nail them as I was out with a mates gos and mine and she was bating like mad to get at his bird.so for safety reasons I use the hood.
  9. hi shes really good on the lamp as this is only her second season on the lamp ,just needs to learn to fly outside the beam instead of flying right down the middle of the beam.
  10. well last nite i put the big girl on the scales and was 2lb 8 1/4 oz so i got the lamp ready and stuck on the two trannys on her and within half an hour two rabbits where i the bag and called it a nite
  11. I think its a male thing as I had a mate that had a male goshawk and couldn't hold a rabbit down as the female have bigger feet and hold on better.
  12. today was really to strong of winds to fly and this unlucky one bolted and just called it a day and a good fed up for a few days
  13. They'll still run with a 1lb 8oz a Harris attached, so a 1lb 1oz bird is in for some ride! Corvids from out of a window I reckon.......;-) Yeah ive even seen it with my female gos shes 2lb 7 oz and on a head hold ive seen them run on to with her still attached.
  14. His not a big Harris make sure when he gets the hold of a rabbit run like a mad man after him as he mite find it hard to stop the rabbit on a head hold .as the rabbit could run on with him still attached to the rabbit.
  15. Thank you lll sure keep her busy alright.
  16. today i took out the young sprocker pup to do some cover work and any sets he marked i popped in a ferret and ended up with 5 rabbits the day and give the gos a good blow out and a few days rest to.
  17. Yeah as she still is a young bird and this is her first one is ever had and hopefully she'll have more and that one more quarry ticked off the list.as ive tryed for rooks with on luck hopefully with showing her them all the time that will click.
  18. well the big girl was 2lb 6 3/4 oz and took the two springer with me and the mate ,when done some cover work with the dog and a cock pheasant broke from the cover and went about 300 yard flight and lost it,so the young sprocker worked another bit of cover which a hen bird broke and had a 100 yard start and she caught it but we thought it went into a forest and ran into it and I tracked it as it was in a piece of thick grass outside the forest and the time we found it the bird lost the hold of it and got away,so we where heading to another bit of cover and the two dog put out another hen bird
  19. Very nice [BANNED TEXT].i loved lamping my Harris nothing much got away from her.
  20. today was out with the young sprocker pup and bolted three nice flight for the bird and going one with the ferret as the dog showed signs one was at home the way he was in the whole,
  21. Yeah as I just guess I pushed her to hard and was tried.
  22. was out yesterday and got two rabbits, and got a fone called from a friend to go out lamping so I never fed her must and took her out lamping and got another two rabbits,And woke up this morning to bow the bird out and woke up to a empty perch and thought the worst has happen to me ,But I just guess I pushed her too hard and was to tried to stand on the perch
  23. That what I like about pr bird don't make any noise unless you have dropped the weight to low.
  24. quick hour last nite let the young sprocker work the cover first and the rabbits never broke right from the cover and put a ferret in and one bolts out and called it a nite.
