    born cause u cant make them go to ground and u certainly can't go to ground with them they got to be born with all the ingredients you can't make something that doesn't want to be made and I know some of you might not like it I think a terrier with the right ingredients is the easiest working dog to get success with .

    I have only seen one Bedlington he was a really good honest dog far too big for my liking but he was very very hard he was ridlington bred excuse the spelling

    How does a good hound mark a hole without being entered some terriers will mark true like a hound on the lead on a entrance of hole

    I think a otter could be a very tough animal never done anything with them seen none only on tv ha ha how tuff are they compared to our other two foe or friends

    smithy was no different than some dogs of now or back then and is line is no greater than other lines did he win alot of shows and did people buy alot of pups by him is thats why people on here try to big him up why was he so special tell me just a honesest questions

    Its not really hard today with the terrier locator make sure you know how to use the locator properly if ur only digging earths its not really hard just put the dogs safety first as you brake through in having a wide enough hole And make sure the dog got room and is ok . The rest you will learn from mistakes. If it was years ago when there wasn't locator boxes I'd definitely tell u go with someone first and if you were doing rock work l would advise you to go with someone who knows the crack as that has much more to be learned about.

    Perhaps the buyer wanted the big breeders name behind the pup so when he bred off it he could have more money for the pups

    Get ur trap set young man it will save you a lot of time then the more pups you can get the better cause u will get some wastage but make sure the pups you try to enter are defo not going to be any good before you do anything drastic once u get one speaking the rest should copy it will take u along time to get some going tidy

    Bolt plenty infront of them from 12 months on but some pups need to be older they all diffrent . Iet the lurcher catch them infront of them after a bit then hold the lurcher and then they probably won't catch but when they lose sight they should put their heads down and start to hunt in my opinion I wouldn't let the lurcher hunt with them he will take them off the line . Start them in august on some easy rush beds and ferny banks ull need atleast half a dozen but one old hound would be very useful to get them to speak on a line . Ull have to be very patient and dedicated good luck

    im not on this site to make friends im only stating facts which some of you don't like good because about time some of u got told some facts I think and just for tinytiger I only keep 1 terrier haven't bred for years had one given to me off mate im not the man down the road ha ha

    Obviously the one's biting sell dogs for money. not good for the working terrier and breed they dogs for wrong reasons

    Yes just cos my great great granfather was good it don't mean that I am some people need to look at what they got in they kennels now cause you cant dig with the dogs grandparents although great great

    It wasn't the dog probably people wanted to have a big name behind the pups they were selling were as if smithy was any good they shold have used the father but nobody asked because he wasn't a gould dog

    Now then lads ive been having a go at the big breeders (dealers) lately but I known of a lad who once went to a big breeder to use is dog on a bitch but the big terrier breeder said that there a better dog down the road but the lad replied no I won't to use ur dog .The reason being he wanted a big breeders name behind the pups so then i just want to stick up for the man down the road who never talks about his own dogs just say when asked they ok and only breeds for is own use and what he as left will give to mates in my eyes they are the legends in the world of terriers and the man down the r

    4 generation after and the smithy breeding has gone from any dog blood will out and I dont think anyone gives they good dogs away do they . If u have a poodle put a Patterdale on it and then put Patterdale on the offspring and keep on doing it u wont get any poodle left . Was smithy a smart showy type dog?
