  5. a watched a thing with wolves a would say its totally different the wolves attack it together as they don't want to get injured they injury there prey then follow it as said totally different.what would owners do to turn it to the dogs favour explain it what dog was used etc
  6. A can't see a stag been done single handed
  7. It would take a super dog and a hell of a lot of help. One stag that we did had 2 dogs on it, it was rutting the Jeep when we pressed it up against the edge. I've seen a stag that was run around the field straight line a kids big Deerhound crosses, it cleared a dyke and left the dogs for dead.a was thinking that tbh
  8. What type of dog takes a red stag for those that have seen it if any have.its not the catching it's the stopping of them a find hard to believe.
  9. Caught them when beating out plantations which were fenced in,you know how they could get in a panic & then run into fencing etc & be their own worst enemy thrashing & bouncing about instead of taking a step back & popping over & away to safety..Patt took several he did back in the days of yesteryear If there caged in a reckon any dog could
  10. a had a pug that took all 6 easy preban
  11. There would be few deer left if 90% of lurchers could come to terms with the easiest of Bambi,if the tales on here are to be believed.Thankfully that leaves enough for my favoured meal, casseroled Fallow, thank feck for roadkill.Like i said buddy 90% were "capable" of the smaller varieties not that 90% ever did,I've seen a Patterdale terrier catch several Roe back in the day & even daytime hares lol..so lets be honest Roe & smaller should of been in the grasp of almost all lurchers given a chance.. The bigger beasties well they were more for the select few imogeez peace.how did the patte
  12. I hear this all the time, and seen it not that often. How many actual catches does a dog make after the prey makes it through a fence? Less than most! (Im not talking about red ones). The biggest problem we have here is 99% of the fences are 2-3 strand barb on top, any dog can jump a fence, Its when they are tired or carrying prey back it can become risky. I dont lift my dogs over fences, and they jump them all the time, I just discourage them from jumping when chasing. Each to their own I wish you A.T.B PS Zip is looking better today she will be fine. when there tried and carrying prey
  13. I need my dog to jump or else we wouldn't catch anything.a would rather teach my dog to jump and have it see something and not knowing and hurting it's self each to there own
