    Funny I found the opposite. Mine came in feet when I got it and couldn't get on with it so switched to meters and I find its less jumpy. Each to there own I suppose.

    I take some bread crusts or something like that. I throw them down the hole so the dog goes in. Won't go in otherwise, and then I put shovel behind him. He has to find another way out then and hopefully he will bump into a fox.

    Have you lads got some decent stuff over there now? Iv only seen pictures of some of the coloured dogs you have over there and they all look saturated with bull blood. Is that the case or am I seeing pics of the same dogs all the time. Lol

    well not really, if the secret is about how to create a given stamp of animal,(ie working terrier)science says its got to be about genetics and selection of the most suitable selection of animals for breeding, and the techniques employed in trying to achieve this ie inbreeding, linebreeding , selection of outcross blood if needed etc, ( and of course while adding (apparently) unsuitable blood has the chance of adding unsuitable genes, it can also add sometimes hidden suitable ones). but as just about everyone knows, like does tend to breed like, darwin taught us that over 100 yrs ago.however,

    When I had mine there wasnt many in the UK. The father to my pups was imported from some Arctic tundra. Over there they let them go in the summer months to fend for themselves. And then bring them in for the winter months to work. As wild as it gets! Lol

    That my friend is exactly what I was getting at some places don't need a super dog like everyone on here has they just need a dog that makes its owner happy Like I said Lee there are some very average dogs out there. But would you breed off a dog that in your heart you knew has had an easy career. just because he made you happy. Or would you seek more tested stock?
