    Identification Help

The wife got a good look at this today and looked at loads of photo's online and reckons it's either a Lanner or Saker! Could that be possible?

    Identification Help

hopefully I'll get a chance to see it when I have my binoculars to hand, the mk1 eyes aren't what they used to be but I have glimpsed what i believe is the same bird a couple of times over the last week, just need a closer/longer look. I'm in Cheshire btw

    Identification Help

i see males and females regularly, this was smaller with no bars on it
  7. Hi all, I have just seen a relatively small hawk/falcon in my garden. I regularly have sparrowhawks visit but this was considerably smaller with a red/buff breast, more the size of a Kestrel, i have looked online at British birds of prey but nothing seems similar. Has anyone lost something more exotic in the area atb Tex
  8. I watched a video on you tube last night, a guy was ratting at a dockyard, there were foxes on the docks too and he was having to return with a FAC air rifle to take care of them as not allowed to use anything other than air weapons on the docks due to hazardous materials so they certainly have there place. I watch Ted too, i think the US market would not be interested in sub 12ftp, as gun law over there is massively different state to state and unless you have a criminal record you can buy pretty much anything and generally property and shooting areas are larger therefore the distances he
  9. It's an interesting question as I see rim/centrefires can be much cheaper than a PCP however I guess your not allowed to sit in your back garden and bang away with one of those (I imagine not but may be wrong) Perhaps it's a bigger question than just price, environment etc. I'll await the answers with interest
  10. worked out how to reduced the file size, so here you are Pappabear
  11. I have a pair of those too
  12. Yes mate it's a carbine but hang fire and see if someone comes on to proove me wrong with a HW100 horror story. Again I think if looked after nothing wrong with a 2nd hander, personally i have never owned a brand new gun so this is what i'm after unless an amazing bargin comes along ( anyone with an offer pm me)
  13. I asked a similar question about the R10 and the replys were resoundingly in favour of the HW100kt, the guys on here know there onions so i'm waiting a while for the pennies to follow their advice. All weapons seem to have those in favour or against yet i haven't read anybody complaining about the Wiehrach, Good luck with your purchase Happy hunting, Tex
  14. I knew it came with the 2 mags. but not the mod aswell, .22 kt it is then. Big thank you guys. I will look for a good deal near to me. Any thoughts as to what flavour pellets? My BSA likes RWS Superdomes
  15. Well thanks all, my other thought was the HW100kt,which you have confirmed is a beauty and why I titled the topic BSA R10 to see what R10 owners thought, Is the lower shot count and extra £100 or so worth it? Still i suppose if i'm prepared to spend £700 another ton for the right weapon doesn't sound too bad but then add a moderator and a new scope and mounts and suddenly my budgets getting blown. I really wanted to keep my Scorpion se but maybe part-ex would be the way to go (can't shoot two at a time anyway) and i've never had an "out of the box" rifle as i have always bought secondhand but
  16. your comments and experiences please, cosidering a purchase, but would like the thoughts of owners or alternative suggestion. Thanks
  17. Job done, 2 Ex-Magpies & a bonus "woody", pictures would'nt upload unfortunately
  18. Not yet! They're winding me up, have to ensure the right shot, don't want a pellet straying into the neighbours gardens
  19. I have an SMK b3f free to a good home, (iron sights seperate) and a smk 4x20 sight somewhere It was a gimme to me so should be passed on the same, sights cost me £20 way back so who cares, collect it it's yours
  20. Can anyone explain why night vision scopes are still relatively so expensive? I was using this technology in the Army 30 years ago, other technology has become relatively more affordable!
  21. Thanks pappabear, I was lucky with the deal on my Scorpion, stoegers 4x16x40 IR scope, SAK mod and too be fair a cheap Buffalo River bag and 500 RWS pellets all for less than £450. I have seen alot dearer but spent quite some time shopping around. More Magpies for me this weekend, it's like they've invaded Happy hunting
  22. I had my first kills this weekend too. The precision of my .22 scorpion se has really impressed me, so accurate and recoil free. Definately a PCP convert!
  23. I now have and ex-Magpie and got a bonus "woody" too, My Scorpion seems spot on at 25 meters which is ideal for my garden and already have more birds feeding!
