  1. That's a valid point you make Rez, I'd say Si is nearly as good a shot as we are...
  2. I would prefer the 97 as a gun, but the imp would be smoother straight out of the box! Looking at the long term, I'd personally go for the 97 with the option to have it stage 1 or 2 tuned in the future. I'd love to try an Imp for myself, Si's review of it was impressive! But then again... The 97 also has great reviews & even more so after a tune. I have the 97kt black line on order with the stage 2 tune, won't arrive for a few weeks but when it does.. I'll let you know how I get on. But at the end of the day, it's going to be your rifle... So it's your choice. Don'
  3. Good going so far mate, bet she'll be a treat when you're done with her! My TX will be on its way to ya after my holiday! ;)'
  4. I knew you wouldn't come home empty handed Matty! Looks great & will be a nice project for you.
  5. So far I've preferred AO scopes it's allowed me to get a clear image at various distances. Not sure it would be the same with a fixed focus as I believe their parallax is usually set at 50 yards as a minimum, so may cause parallax error at closer ranges. I'd like to try a side focus like a mamba or varmint.
  6. I think she looks great mate, really suits the rifle!
  7. Hello guys, Just wanted to get your opinions on which you prefer and why? Thanks Daryl
  8. I agree with you mate, when I first started off the hand the rifle was wandering off all over the place... Now I can keep that wobble under control! I know the feeling, my missus has caught me in some compromising positions with my guns... she don't even ask anymore, a shake of the head says it all!
  9. Sounds like you have a spot on process that works for you! =) What rifle do you have mate?
  10. Thanks for the idea mate, think i'll give that a go at the weekend. =)
  11. No worries, I use an air arms S510 (with a PH mod for added weight at the business end). I find it helps with my stability and the noise a little too. Off hand is always a good skill to have in your locker Sounds a nice set up mate, one day i'll perhaps enter the world of PCP's. I find shooting off the hand the most rewarding, it's also the one that your mates always want to try with your rifle.... so it's worth the practise for when it's your turn, a chance to impress them! Plus... no one wants to be a 1 trick pony! ha ha
  12. Hello mate, thats what it's all about.. having fun and getting to learn your rifle! And if Hollywood does come knocking... you'll be ready!
  13. The Panorama is due to arrive today, think i'll stick it on the 95k and give it a go tonight if I get the chance. Looking forward to trying out one of these scopes for myself, I'll let you know how I get on with it. Daryl
  14. Thanks Chris! =) Lovely looking 77, I'm a big fan of those! Daryl
  15. Thanks mate, really looking forward to getting my hands on this one! All good things come to those who wait.. I've always had pretty good results with JSB exact's in my HW's, but will be interested to see what they recommend, a new pellet choice may be on the cards! Thanks for the heads up about the power creep, i'd like it set more around the 11ftlbs mark.. think that would be sufficient to stay safely under?
  16. Congrats mate and a nice write up! Daryl
  17. Thanks for all your comments guys, some very good points made and advice given. Today I've spoken to Tony at SFS and have ordered myself a HW97 Blackline with 2nd stage tune, I've opted for it in .177 as it's a trajectory I'm more familiar with. This will be the rifle that I use for HFT, I'll top it with a MTC Mamba scope, 4-16 x 50mm and that should be a pretty good set up. Then all thats left to do is practise, practise, practise... until I know the rifle inside out and to the point where I'm getting some nice, consistent results. Might have to sell a couple of my other rifle
  18. I totally agree with you mate, at the moment I'm personally putting in more focus into shooting from off the hand but I wont neglect the other positions.. ATB Daryl
  19. Thanks for your reply mate, it's much appreciated! That's a lovely looking rifle, I'm very envious. Where do you get a custom stock from & what sort of price are you roughly looking at? Thanks Daryl
  20. I'm looking to get into HFT & want to start off with a spring rifle.. I know it's gonna be a matter of opinion, but I'd like to know what spring set up's people are already using or would suggest/recommend? Thanks Daryl
  21. Thanks for your response's guys! Put in a bit of practise off the hand today, I was hitting the 1 inch kill zone 8 out of 10 times at 20 yards. Also landed 10 shots in a row on a coke can at 40 yards which I was chuffed about. Happy shooting Daryl
  22. Love the selfies mate, proper cracked me up!! Ha ha. Think I'd shit my pants if I was having a nice Sunday walk in the countryside & you jumped out all ghilli'ed up!! Top shooting as well Skotty boy, one day I gotta get myself one of those smk 100's! ATB Daryl
