    . I make my own fatballs when I have the time but I don't put whole seeds,when the seed's a covered in fat it's hard for them to get a grip on them I blend up a mixture of seeds then add porridge and other bit's and pieces' then roll them unto big balls

    Aldi were doing a 3 in one feeder for 11 Euro last week looked well made from the pic in the magazine.

    I've noticed Ray with the sparrows getting very tame here in the last few years since I moved to this house they come real close to me,I don't freed them in summer and every October they start coming to the empty table then I start putting out food,clever little fcukers.

    . You have to be careful buying Niger seed it needs to be fresh if its not fresh the oils are probably dried out and it's no good.

I do see bully,s but not in my garden I cover quite a lot of ground on my walks and normally see one or two pairs a year, but never loads, best bird I get on the feeders is a pair of blackcaps but they only come if we are about to get some really cold weather so make a good weather forecast, I buy mealworms in 20kg bags online, someone mentioned at the start that they are just a husk with no nutrition in them, I soak them in hot water before I feed them and they rehydrate into a full worm it also stops them blowing away in the wind, I had a male sparrow hawk in the tree this week watching th

    Have House Sparrows in the garden but a flock of Tree Sparrows around my fowl pens and plenty of Yellow Hammers too, lovely to see.. There's no yellowhammers around here I only seen some for the first time last year when I was in new lands grave yard it's full of them.

    Could you send me a picture of a Greenfinch so I can remember what they look like. My father is little short of buying his wild bird food in bulk and has 100s of birds coming to his garden and the most common used to be the Greenfinch and now there's none. Very sad. Plenty of green finches around here Neil just don't get them on my birdtable,we're does you're father buy his food there's a place up here called the corn store they do 3 kilo bags give or take of Niger,sunflower hearts,peanuts, safflower, hemp,at five euro a bag,there aslo cheep with aviary bird seed and if you were buying in

    Do any of yous feed the birds in your gardens I love feeding and watching them I could sit for hour's looking out the window at them,I feed this and sunflower hearts and a no mess mix,I get mostly sparrows,tits Robin's a few dunnock and the odd chaffinch, what do you lad's feed and what birds come to your feeder's a few pic's would be nice.
