  1. oh yeah,it'll have to be cocked to have an open barrel to push pellet put of!lol. forgot it was a pcp in my earlier post!
  2. ahh....i love my "old fashioned" break barrel.... seriously,if its only one pellet jammed,a cleaning rod pushed carefully down the muzzel(gun obviously uncocked and unloaded!) should push it out. happened to my falcon a few times.
  3. has anyone had trouble with a blitz?i've got a blitz and never had a problem with it(apart from fuse holder melting but thatr was two mins to sort)my mates have strikers and they're always having problems of one sort or another.
  4. diesel? lol, ever heard the term "dieseling"?? as for purpose made lube, some think it makes a difference, some don't. for instance,i used to use napier lube on my pellets but it seems that my current gun doesn'y like lubed pellets. try it and see?
  5. its funny, one of my dogs loves a sly gob full of guinness if it can get it and the other is tee total!won't touch it. loves a cuppa though!!
  6. its a a sad day when a bloke has to part with his dogs like this. can't you "sell" them toa mate and do him a favour by walking them etc?
  7. 95% of my shooting is lamping bunnies so i rarely need to shoot beyond 25/30 yards anyway. (you said 2 things limit your shooting...yourself and gun quality?what about conditions?)
  8. theres a bloke on you tube doing one holers at 1200 yards with .50 rifle.doesn't mean we can all do it! the h and n's were in near enough a one holer. the accupells stood out because of the larger and funny group. theres a gener preconseption that no body can shoot.. and they should buy this then that then everything else after woulds.. theres two thing that limit your shooting 1. is you 2. is gun quolity... the rest is time and effert... like 50 yards with a HW80 hitting the back of a pellet to zero standing? i did it a few years ago when i didnt even know what a yard
  9. losing a choke(if all hw's have them, some say yes, some say no!lol)isn't the end of the world, the rifle could become more pellet fussy though. got to add, that i wouldn't cut a rifle down just to fit it in a bag but there are plenty of reasons to do it.
  10. v mach is steve pope who used to run venom tuning. barrel shortening is always a funny sublect with people for and against it.i've had my 95 cut and recrowned with no loss of accuracy.its no louder and recoils is no more(does have a v mach stage one and an evooution silencer fitted though)my barrel was 410mm and is now 275mm(11") apparently,a pellet only accelerates in the first 8" or so of a barrel so no power loss should occur.

  12. thats not a top hat mate, its a spring guide. most if not all HW's have them as standard.(the venom one is better though!got the same kit in my 95)the top hat will only be an inch or so at the most long.
  13. i had my 95's barrel cut down but had someone who was an ex engineer with the correct tools do it. it needs cutting PERFECTLY sqare and then re crowning correctly. not a job to undertake if you're not confident .
  14. the accupells were washed and lubed. but haven't been used for a while(were fine out of my old eclipse!) the accupels are not as tight in the barrel as the H&n's...not loose but not quite as tight.
  15. think thats were most thinks happen in the motor on a night but dont allow this if a dog is that way inclined as to go there out doing a job not fighting between them selves just wont allow this stops you going out with other folk if your dog just dont get on together i know. when these two dogs are out together,i take my bitch instead!
  16. did he have a friend called sue?
  17. when we were kids,my dad had an indian mate. when my sister(only 4 or 5 at the time)first met him,she pointed out how he was "lightly toasted"!!!!everyone thought it was hilarious!!and the nick name stuck, after that evryone used to call him by it!
  18. luckily my male dog is not dog aggressive in the slightest. i've a few mates who's male dogs have the odd disagreement in the back of the motor though!
  19. could be your brething pattern? that does make sense but why's it not doing it with the ftt's?
  20. only two but both had the funny V shape to them? h and n's didn't!
  21. my gun was already zeroed bit i was a bit bored this aft so i thought id have a go and see what were the best groups i could get out of this rifle! i'd heard differing views on what effect shortening my barrel would have on "such a light weight" springer, some people reckon that the recoil and flip would be too harsh, coupled with cutting the choke off(if 95's have them!)would ruin accuracy. anyway,at 25 yards(my garden length! ) unlubed H&N ftt's were literally one on top of the other(this was rested.)the group was under a cm in size! more accurate than i usually am,put it that way!! one

    For Chimp

were you shearing????? or would i have to get my own?
  23. its not done with gun.on dogs, its done in their ears with pliers.
  24. Most complete feeds are made to meet the needs of 'pet' dogs and so may not suit workers. I suppliment with meat, bones veg and table scraps to individuel needs. Mine have plenty of energy are healthy, easily able to tolerate a nights lamping, multiple sprints, or a long run with me, 6 or 7 miles steady paced including at least half free running on beach and burrows. At the end of the day it's about the right balence of carb, protein and fats the source doesn't realy matter as long as it's digestable. The dogs body doesn't care if it's protein comes from a chickens beak or it's breast cooked
