  6. have just tried it your way stubby, not for me i'm afraid, too much fecking about to get the same result, i don't seem to have a problem distinguishing which direction to go just using lights.....puts me bang on the collar in seconds with no noise until the end, even then it's hardly noticeable, each to their own as they say

  8. some thieving scrote smashed the lock off one of my hutches on monday night and nicked two of my best workers i'm not at all vindictive but i WILL kill the f&&^%^s if i ever find em ! the local cuntstable thinks he knows who it might be, doubt i'll ever see them again though now looking for two ferts to replace them
  9. don't you use the lights at all then stubby ? if using the pinpointer control turned up full all the time that must get very loud and annoying mate, could using it like that be why so many people moan about the noise and go back to the old mk1 ?
  10. search using lights with the unit flat, locate using lights when within 8 feet with unit pointing down, then turn your volume up and listen, the beeps get higher pitched as you get closer, put a collar on the ground and practice, if you start directly over the collar with your volume on a bit, you will get an idea of the accuracy or your particular unit that way, the operation of the pinpointer will become instantly clear, the closer to the collar the higher the pitch, as you move away, the pitch drops, doing a cross (up down and side to side) will make it obvious! so wide area......searc
  11. i believe one of the jills is one i GAVE you a few weeks ago ! now you have the nerve to sell it and on the same forum you got it off, you told me you were a serious beginner ! now a few weeks later you're packing up, the least you could do is GIVE the jill to someone who actually wants a ferret

i'm guilty of commenting on the fiver donation, which i was more than happy to do by the way, because it offered some sort of safeguard on the sales threads (or so i thought) my comment was not intended to offend ianb or anyone else, all i asked for was a seperate dog sales bit to tidy the sales section up, please accept my apologies if i offended anyone

  20. i have 2 year old beddy whippet that i've had for about 6 months, he's is a well behaved quiet dog who loves his ferreting and lamping, he has been the perfect companion and have not had any problems at all......however, for the last three evenings, he has displayed some very odd behaviour, during the day he is his normal self, he works well, sleeps, eats, shits and plays all day and usually falls asleep in front of the fire, then, sometime during the evening, he will sit up and gaze around the room with his ears half cocked and start fidgeting, he seems to be following something around the ro

  22. goats milk is generally unprocessed and can contain harmfull bacteria......freeze it first before using !
  23. fresh beef/turkey/lamb/rabbit with fur and head but never pork of any description........day old chicks once a week, egg in milk once a week and the odd tin of pilchards/sardines, if feeding dry make sure the ferts have GALLONS of water available or they will dehydrate very quickly. i also give mine a dollop of beopharm malt paste (any petshop sells it) once a week and a dose of ferretone to keep the fur and skin in good nick (this helps keep the ticks and fleas away) in my humble opinion, milk provides a usefull amount of vitamins etc for your ferrets but ONLY give a small amount once a
  24. make sure you are using SILVER OXIDE batteries and NOT ALKALINE this is the usual reason for the fault you describe......also, try not to get your greasy paws on the batteries, silver oxide batteries can discharge themselves if they get the grease off your hands on them hth
