cheers mac. Just put that twink on, just need to get it taped so it blends in with the rest of the rifle. little hunter looks like he'll be a threat to your crown, the way he was hitting targets with open sights on a springer!!

Got papers signed for new farm permission and couldn't really be bothered tonight but with 4 permissions on the go got to try and get out as much as possible. got to the farm at 9 and zeroed at 27 yards, it was stupidly windy so wasn't too hopeful but thought it would be a good reconnaissance mission if nothing else. i had a lot of ground to cover and set off. every one of the fields i went in and shone the light in were full of rabbits but with the wind i wasn't going to take any long shots. 2nd field i went into stuck to the edge and shone light around the field picked up eyes 50-6

Chasing Shadows With Cold Feet While The Old Man Slept
DenBell replied to Daz39's topic in Airgun Hunting
Had a right good Laugh at this write up, you two are like the chuckle brothers of air gun hunting. I get impatient after about 20 minutes of lying around. -
Stuart, people will sing songs about this in the future. permission with golf buggy is more epic than any hobbit film! iv'e just landed myself a golf course permission.(doesn't come with a buggy though) I'll have to walk it like a peasant.

i went up the range on tuesday when i was pricing a nearby job and there was a lad up there with an NS50 and he swore by it, but when i looked through it first thing i thought was i bet this is hard to adapt to, different shooting position and judging distance estimates. but i'll get used to it. On my Permission looks like i might get permission to shoot all the fields in that row 5 in total, even the one where we saw 6 sets of eyes.

What you do for work Daz? Reporter, travel Writer, your write ups are second to none. and the permission looks first class. Iv'e just persuaded myself to get An NS 50 at the end of the month but not sure how i'll get on with the range estimation.

I need to get one quick, that thing I had sticking up in mine is worse now and is definitely catching the pellets, they're all over the place. I've asked marksman for the Dogs Bollocks £60 one. ill need some tape to camo it

got to stick with it pal, well worth the effort. when i was finished i used it to print this off handy to have but it shows that the mill dots aren't at exact intervals

Badda Boom, Badda Boom, Badda Finking Boom!
DenBell replied to secretagentmole's topic in Airgun Hunting
well done, your a brave man hanging around. i'd have been off with the first "Badda Boom". there are quite a few woodies on my perm but iv'e never shot at one yet. might have to get on it. -

iv'e always liked my bsa vc silencer but after a trip to the range with bigmac97kt and putting his twink on my scorpion i couldn't believe the difference, iv'e put my order in, and just waiting to sort it out with marksman. i'd recommend it to anyone.

More Rabbit Control - 5Th Video - Rapid 7 & Ns50
DenBell replied to Stuart1985's topic in Airgun Hunting
Nice shooting bud, looks like theyre lining up to be shot. Is the rapid sub 12? -
Cheers bud, normally i would agree but i'm after numbers at the minute. land owner wants them gone and i have tons of mates how don't shoot but now have a taste for rabbits. they think they can ring me to put an order in.
-
Whats the problem pal? took me a while to get to grips with but well worth the effort.
-
not sure about that mate, i need more practice using your technique, i tried it last night it was quieter but still made a noise.
-
well happy is an understatement, i was still smiling about it at work today.
-
Just the one but it was the best stalk and best shot i have ever pulled off. got to my permission at 8 and saw tons of rabbits but they seemed really skittish. they would blitz off the second i put the lamp on them, so i put the dimmer switch right down to startle them less. this seemed to work as i started getting a bit closer. i walked to the bottom of my permission and flicked the lamp on, the noise of me flicking the switch scared a rabbit less than 5 yards away that i hadn't seen. but that buggered off in a hurry. i swept the field with the lamp again and caught the slightest reflec

good one mate, nice pic too. got three of my favorite things in it, Guns, Dogs and dead bunnys.

It Was a good afternoon, too windy to re-zero my rifle but still worth the journey, plus got to here how quiet them twink silencers are. just sent marksman a message.
-
was wondering what the lightning was for when you have your collection of rifles. What time mac? im working in the morn but me and my brother in law were thinking of heading up lunchtime
-
were you there last saturday afternoon? saw a bike up there then.

i agree with danco, download chairgun and theres an option after you input data to give you the best zero, so it requires the least amount of adjustments. wish i had done it earlier
-
Nice one mate, might see you up there at some point, the targets are old and basic but its not too bad for a few quid. Where do you hail from pal?
-
Thanks mate, does that chair gun work with any scope? i tried memorizing distances to certain points but the field is quite barren and open which just adds to the difficulty.
-
In recent weeks the gradient of my permision and the rain making it so slippy it has been impossible to stay on your feet let alone stalk quitetly, so iv'e only option is to hold up and take slightly longer shots, on the range if you know a target is 45 yrds its easy to hit it time and again but in the field if you guess and are out a few yrds out its a miss. After TWO blanks in a row i hit the internet for a solution and after watching hunters vermin on youtube decided to get a range finder. i know its a bit of a cheat and learning to judge distance is part of the fun, that said i get paid to
