good point secretagentmole, but i am an insomniac. 2-3 hours kip. In that case sir it will be a wise investment, especially if you are surrounded by insomniac bunnies! or if the owner is looking at wide scale control and everything goes, the phrase in my head is saying 'if i ain't get any nor are you' on two of my permissions they want maximum numbers, due to damage. Other two aren't particular bothered. Need to get numbers up to keep landowners happy, hence night vision.

Cheers mac, I am going to try and get up midweek if you fancy it, just depends on work schedule though, I will PM you when I know. Need some good numbers to keep them happy so polish up the raider and get those stalking boots on.

No mate, just the once. I am a proper lazy git and i have 2 closer permissions. I'll have to get up soon though to keep Mick the farmer happy

The are an impressive rifle but Iv'e held and fired a few and I just don't feel it, there's something about them I don't like.

That's the thing mate, all my permissions are for Rabbits and there's a lot of em. hence why i want NV but I also want a better rifle. I'll end up with both but what comes First?

I have thought about it mate, maybe in the future I'll take the time to master thIe noble springer but for now numbers are important, and at my level I don't think I could match a pcp. sorry mate, that was for the post you made in the other topic in started.

no mate, no workers. It was a good night but cold. Wish The rabbits weren't so jumpy. Could have been better.

....Thanks for supper! Had one of those weeks at work this week so although i was wrecked i wanted to get out, so went to the golf course.took my time to zero this time, lesson learned. was having no luck all night, saw hundreds but to say they were skittish was an understatement. the second the lamp went on the rabbits were off! after an hour i got one that didnt bolt, stalked to about 50 yards and it got spooked and hoped up a bank to some railway tracks but stopped half way up and sat and looked at me, must have thought it was safe in the long grass. i took a few strides toward it to

In short, i was going to spend some spare money on a night sight but now i'm torn. do i buy a new rifle or stick with the night sight? i currently have a BSA scorpion but its only the single shot and i quite fancy an R-10 or Daystate huntsman. know i'll get some varied responses but i'll take the ones i like

Cheers guys, good to know even the pro's have an off night

Shot and did everything else like a chimp on drugs!! headed up to golf course with Daz39, i'll let daz do the details, he does it better anyway! i should have had 3 but took none. firstly i was an idiot and zeroed in a hurry, so instead of my 27 yrds i did 28.5 yrds not much but it makes a difference. at 27 yrds i never need to apply hold under, so when i missed the first one and i watched the pellet go over the head by 2-3 millimeters i knew what id done. saw plenty but i was stalking too close and when i thought i was 30 or so yards away i was actually 20 or sub 20. it was like t

cheers mate, the wind made it hard but not impossible. i might have to stop doing my write ups at stupid hours in the morning when i can barely think or type. that was the culmination of 3 hours hunting. Haha I know, been there myself and it's trying to do the math of wind speed and mil dots... Sometimes trial and error if my head is messed up lol. Maybe scribble it down at night and review it in the morning? I enjoyed it, as I said but didn't really see anything to fault. I'd do it myself but people enjoy pictures and I lack the artistic ability to take anything decent Keep it coming mate

Certainly is bud, iv'e shot the same land for the past 18 months and in the last 3 weeks iv'e landed 3 new permissions. going to be a good summer. going to buy a chest freezer to put in the garage for all the rabbits.
