  5. i was working down in yorkshire, Malton to be exact, i had no internet where i was staying and barely any phone signal and then i was only back for a few days then i went skiing. Back now though. I did some shooting while i was down there and shot my first black rabbit, if i have time i'll write it up with pics. the family are all good. and yours?

  7. went out last night but for the first time the only rabbit i saw reacted to the lamp. didn't blitz off but stopped munching, looked up an trotted into the tree line. gutted, hope they don't start getting lamp shy any time soon.
  8. har-dee-flippin-har...... Mind, I can't argue with him!!! There is a box of flapjack in it for ya Mac it you find a rabbit on my haha, you would have to have the worst luck in the world to not have a rabbit on a golf course. i've played golf on tons of courses and have never not seen signs of rabbits. I have just found out that a friend of my wife works on a course near me so im going to turn the charm on and see if a can get on there, and im still working on that one i was talking to you about.
  9. sounds like i'm lucky with the amount of mixy about i have only seen one in august but nothing else all healthy, so far. but the numbers have been down a little but im putting it down to the winter and my shooting them regulary
  10. i love the camo look but you can get that look but a bit less permanent with the cloth tape, it looks spot on as well if its done properly. got bigmac97kt to do mine and its great. i wouldnt dip for same reason as pianoman.
  11. i might be out tonight but depends what time me wife gets in from work. haven't been for a week or two and not at all happy with that! have you found anything at the golf course yet?
  12. Good write as always Daz. Getting anywhere near a rabbit is good going but 14yrds is impressive! well done again mate that auto aim seems to be working well for you. .
  13. you'll have to make up for it next trip.
  14. Hope it goes well bud, its flippin freezing so when you blank it hits hard. in the summer i'm glad just been out.
  15. As long as i not working i'm bang up for it. still gutted about the one that got away on Monday. when i saw this one wasn't making any mistakes. like monday all 3 rabbits i lamped didn't run or even change what they were doing.
  16. After mondays trip out with Daz i really wanted to get out again so when my brother in law asked if i was going out and could he come we both went pretty much straight from work. got to the permission around 7 and headed out into the field sweeping with the red lamp, saw a couple of eyes in the distance but the field was so clarty it was hard to stay on your feet let alone be quiet and they both fled. decided to huncker down near a dry stone wall. popped up after ten minutes and shone the light in the same place Daz39 got his on monday and saw a rabbit grazing about 30 yrds away, my broth
  17. Cheers lads thatd be great, dont mind a long walk im a fit lad. Glad to here your getting better bud. I cooked the rabbit mac style, bbq marinade bag in the oven was spot on.
  18. glad you enjoyed it mate, was a good night and was glad to be out seems its been a long time. just to clear some stuff up, i told Daz take the shot because i hadn't zeroed the rifle and didn't know where the pellet would go, and i only put the gun down to hop the fence and help you look for your rabbit, i dont make a habit of walking around without i. the noise your .177 made on impact was awesome sure i heard the pellet crack the skull. get well soon mac.
  19. i think your legs only hurt because you walk about 10 miles a hunt!! i am lazy and like to lie around. Nice one mac. never been shooting with Yoda but even after a few hours chat learnt a lot, so like everyone says listen to mac and you'll not go wrong.
  20. p.s Its quiet, very quiet for a springer
  21. haven't read all the comments so sorry if i repeat anything someone has already written. i Have an x20s and its ok, you get decent groups at 25 yards but difficult after that it has two main problems holding it back. 1. The recoil, it kicks bad and unlike some rifles iv'e shot the recoil doesn't feel like it comes straight back into the shoulder. perfect the artillery hold and stay loose and you wont go far wrong 2. The Trigger, simply awful. its meant to be a two stage unit but the is very little difference in the stages takes a lot of shooting before you feel it. i'm thinking of sellin
  22. Hi den hows you mate im going to see marksman and see if he can do some magic on the stroeger and if it turns out half as good as the crow sport and the 97 it will be a cracking rifle will let you know how it gets on atvbmac  Hello bud, i'm good but have been stupid busy with work and its affecting my shooting time! yer mate let me know how he gets on, would be great if could get mine improved. forgot to mention the triggers are flippin horrible! 24. Can't comment on your current rifle but I do have a stoeger x20s .22 that i sometimes use for hunting and it does the job, it's a decent budget rifle but like Bigmac said it does kick. A lot. in my opinion stretch the budget and get an ultra or similar.
  25. Nice shooting mate, especially the squirrel. i have a few on one of my permissions and they just don't stay still! iv'e watched one for 15 minutes waiting for it to stop bobbing its head like Mohamed Ali! got a lot of respect for the squirrel shooters! Any of them being added to super noodles?
