-
maybe it is in that picture and you just cant see it

went to work this morning and thought i might be able to wangle an early finish so put my rifle in the car with the intention of going to the range. Anyway at lunch time about 12.30 i went to the truck to get some sarnies. sat in truck and was opening the packet when i saw of couple of rabbits playing on the bank in front of me. i was surprised to see them not only because of the time but i had walked over gravel and shut my door making quite a bit of noise. i got the rifle out the bag and put the window down, rested on the side mirror and took one of them out straight between the eyes!

Pellets Producing Different Ftpds Results
DenBell replied to PJWmids's topic in General Airgun Discussion
good point mate, but when its as close as mine to the limit you kind of know its a possibility. i think i would rather try and do something about it than have some jobsworth trying to take my rifle off me. -
Do you shoot from a lot of the same positions? i do, so i paced to certain landmarks from my positions so when i see a rabbit it is a good indicator as to its distance. if i know that a certain tree is 30 yrds and the rabbit looks a few paces past it i know to apply slight hold over. helped me a lot. suppose it only works if you go prone in the same place often but like i said helped me and now i find that i estimate distance a lot better than i did. i have only ever tried to shoot at an elevated target once and thought it was going to be a dead certain hit and the pellet flew well ove

Pellets Producing Different Ftpds Results

i have the same problem at the minute pal, my scorpion is shooting at 11.8 fpe with air arms field but but 12.4 fpe with bisley mags so my plan is to get it down a bit. i dont know how true it is but a lad at my local shooting range told me that if the police wanted to take your rifle and test it they will put a few different grains through it. not worth from my view point. -
cover everything in that tape you'll be invisible!! Rifle looks amazing still on display on the coffee table, i wanted to put it on the fire place but isn't wide enough. still thinking about the barrel, i've ordered more tape might put it on to see what it looks like.

did you blank on purpose mac to make us average shooters on here feel better? hope i didn't curse the raider when i got my hands on her!
-
definitely is mate, glad i took it to mac and didn't try it myself would have made a right dogs ear of it!!
-
Find out hard to believe it could look better! Its been on my coffee table since I got home. It's like a piece of art.
-
Thanks again mate, top bloke. And thanks for the tips, sure they will pay off and combined with the chameleon I'll have a bag full!
-
looks awesome mate, well chuffed with it. cant wait to get out with it. going to attatch a mobile to it so i can ring it when i lose it.
-
nice as always mac, looking forward to meeting up tonight. do you prefer the neck to a head shot? never tried it my self.
-
knew for a day or two that i was going to get out tonight and had been looking forward to it all day, this morning when i was packing the truck decided to only put the springer (stoeger x20 suppressor) in as it would force me to stalk a little more, easy to take 40 odd yard shots with a PCP but with a crap springer like the stoeger you need to get a little closer. got to the back of the field and walked around clockwise like i always do and saw nothing, big contrast with sunday when i saw hoards. jumped the little fence to the front of the property and spotted a little rabbit on the hill

Nice bag mate, I have scorpion with tactical stock and love it. Nice and light, looks fantastic and is as accurate as you could ask for if I miss I know it was my crap shooting and nothing to do with the rifle.

Very Quiet Pellet Trap / Backstop
DenBell replied to dangerousdan's topic in General Airgun Discussion
you would think but not really, pellets pretty much go in the same place so you have a few holes but not spread out enough to tear bag clean open. ive used same bag for about 8 months and still ok. i'll put a picture up in the morning when its light. -
Very Quiet Pellet Trap / Backstop

Haven'y read all the posts mate so don't know if its already been suggested but i use a bag of bark from b&q that i had left over from a job. no pellet makes it through and it is silent. i'm in the same position my garden is pretty surrounded and don't want to create more of a disturbance than needs be. i suppose sand will be the same. -
40.5", not much in it
-
Not the size of the gun is it, Den? It's how you aim it? LOL Dam right, is the scorpion small compared to your HW100?
-
My gun isnt that tiny! I'd say average. Haha :-) The second one was a decent size, made a cuzz out of it, lovely. The little one went into freezer, a couple of them will make a stew

Before you read on and expect a ton of shot rabbits i only got two but i saw more then thirty, the place was heaving!!! i had two hours before i had to pick my wife up from her mothers so i went to my little permission in corbridge and from the minute i got there i saw rabbit after rabbit but getting close enough was proving difficult. I saw four run into a burrow so i lay down in a comfy spot under a tree to see if they would come back out. only had to wait ten minutes and two of them broke the tree line opposite me about 40 yrds away slight breeze left to right which i took into consider
