Describe a good working Patterdale
swanseajack replied to swanseajack's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Cheers p***y.... Describe a good working Bedlington
swanseajack replied to swanseajack's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Ideal size 14/16" spannable, narrow in the chest, good bit of length in the body, strong head and jaw and most importantly big strong teeth, coat good strong outer with an inner softer coat to keep em warm, (haven't seen one yet) temperament wise they should be laid back, not fussy or gassy, not aggresive with anything at all, butter wouldn't melt in their mouth type, sleep with one eye open and always thinking... working style should be the exact opposite of laid back, busy with their noses, looking all the time, when they meet their quarry it should always be up and at em, pushing for a bo -
The reason why I started so many topics each covering a specific breed is because I wanted genuine replies from people who had experience of each breed. That is genuine replies from people who have GENUINE interests in the specific breed, for them to share their information with all of us... There are genuine people on this forum, but I doubt that they will write anything constructive due to the backlash from you keyboard warriors.. I nearly walked away from this site a while back due to reading some of the drivel that is written on here, then I thought no, that's just giving in

Describe a good working Plummer
swanseajack replied to swanseajack's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
If the mods let it, maybe, but it would be good if the Plummer fans had their input on the above questions and those of us who care to take note will listen, I have a genuine interest in all breeds, and I'm sure nebies to the game will also have an interest, the slaggers can go fly a kite and bicker amongst themselves.... -

Describe a good working Jack russell
swanseajack replied to swanseajack's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Thanks SS, at last a good answer to a genuine post... My take on them: Size = 12/14" Conformation = good strong heads, bit of length in the body, easily spannable, Coat =not fussed as long as it's weatherproof, Temperament= busy little dogs, 100 miles an hour, nothing phases them, Working Style= baying and mixing mainly baying and making a racket is what I see a Russell as, not giving an inch confusing the fck out of it's quarry.. some pics of tidy russells I've dug to.. -

so in your eyes all terriers are the same, same size, same colour, same working ability.. ?? Read the question it specifically states BORDER... that's why there are so many different threads started... I started all the different ones hopefully to give an insight into different working styles of different terriers from different breeds.. FROM people who have genuine interests in the breed of their choice,, and hopefully help people who are thinking of owning whatever breed some information on them... ??? not to start world war three.... was that too much to ask... ? Perhaps a -

What would your defintion of a Good WORKING terrier be... Size, conformation, coat, temperament, working style Part A.
