  11. As said the 200m would only be for spotting, but I also have a .17hmr so would be interesting to see if it would be ok for rabbits 100+ at night.
  12. Hi, I have a t20ir ( opticfire) which is fine up to about 65 yds on my 22lr, or close in for ratting range. I would like something to throw out to max 200 yds to help with spotting, but keeping weight down due to shoulder injury (and old age). I,ve been looking at the Night Fox XB5 and wondered if anyone has one or could comment on if it would do the job up to that range. Cheers ian.
  13. Eddie I've just been looking at the write up on these, and they are equivalent in all respects (in fact excede) to a trap of type and make specified in column 1 of the schedule. Sect8 (3) of the Pests act. Meeting this criteria therefore would mean they would be an approved spring trap as specified in the act. (Unless I've missed something.) Anyway I'm certain the other makers would be crying foul if Trapbarn were out of order.
  14. Have a look at the Mk4 from Trapbarn on ebay. Advertised as an approved, upgraded and stronger trap than the Fenn. made in UK, and cheaper right now. Havent used one but well worth a try.
  15. Ok, thanks. With regard to snares, Ive never used one for foxes, they havent got to be locking have they, so does the fox have a good chance of slipping free?
  16. Hi, I was wondering if soft jaw spring traps were legal or not for foxes. Like many others I'm having little success with a cage trap. I was watching a vid on the tube of a bloke catching and releasing one ,and it just ran off no problem. 'Dirt hole' spring trap sets as used in the US seem very efficient at catching, as theres nothing to be seen by the fox/coyote.
  17. .22 lr Wanted. View Advert SORTED> Looking for a 22lr rifle for rabbits. I fancy a lever action, Marlin, Browning or similar. Helpful if screwed for mod, and has or can take a scope. Must be accurate to at least 75m is main consideration. Doesnt have to be pristine, it will be a working gun,. but in good condition. Dont mind a bit of travel for the right one, and will pay the right price for a good example. Thanks guys, look forward to seeing whats out there. Advertiser mazperks
  18. Thats the equivalent of working 6 days a week 52 weeks a year at 25 moles per day. Perhaps a bit of creative accounting there, with no one to do any auditing of numbers. Or am I being a little cynical. It would be interesting to see what he put in his tax return though.
  19. He probably lost a 5p while setting a deep run, Ha! ha!
  20. I personally am not saying this trap won't work because Ive never seen or heard of them before. I am puzzled though why the opening is made so small, when the idea is to get the fox trapped as easily as possible into it.
  21. Not surprised NP, at £20 more than a pair of Putanges.
  22. The Kist Fox trap on ebay has dimensions of 120 x 15 x 11 cm. (An opening size of 6"x 4 1/2")? Might be big enough for a rabbit or am I missing something.
  23. Agree with everything you said. I only use the term "Trap shy" as a general term to mean any critter that is obviously avoiding being caught. Be it through bad experience, heightened awareness or whatever. I've been after mine for a month now
  24. Well Nicepics we've been informed theres no such thing as "trap shy" moles, and if you've got traps backfilled, or tunnelled under, its down to pilot error.
